Printer Model
Canon MG6850
Hi,
I joined this forum as I had an Ink Absorber Tank problem with my 10 yr old Canon MG6850. I replaced the Absorber Tank absorbent material but could not clear the associated warning message. When the message turned to a full blown 5B00 error the printer became inoperable. I gained a tremendous mount of information from this forum over a number of days and found that Service Mode could be activated by the 5 taps of the 'Stop' button with the power button held down but was not sure whether or not it had successfully entered Service Mode.

I decided to buy the v5204 Service Tool from Orpys.com. They were not the easiest company to deal with as they are based in Ukraine and their instructions were not the clearest. They auggested that I purchase the later v6400 Service Tool which I downloaded and ran atfer they had sent the License No. Anyway following their procedure sheet the software did manage to reset the Ink Absorber Tank from 100.2% to 0.0% and low and behold the printer works fine with no error messages. I've posted this just to help anyone else with the same problem.

Good luck with yours.
