Canon ix4000 lost purge pad???

Hi i have had a problem printing black ink for two weeks now, have ran clean cycle in the settings still no luck, tried new incartridges and still nothing, i read on here that it may be the purge pads which i blocked so i followed the instructions to clean mine and i have noticed the larger one for black ink is missing somehow??? can anybody help me to where inside the printer it may have fallen or easier where can i buy a new one?? any help apprectiated thanks

Maybe you should post a picture. Mine doesn't have one either, or so it appears. I have no idea how those things work.

Tandberg had this excellent post about a Canon printer purge unit with associated components: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=61317#p61317

The purge pads are best seen in picture #4 from the top. They are the two flat pads made from a hard and porous plastic or ceramic material. One pad is square with cut off corners and is for the dye nozzles, the other is rectangular with cut off corners and is for the pigment black nozzles. In picture #5 they are back in place.
