My IP4500 prints fine for a while, then i get black on the corners of the paper as it exits the printer.
I find LOTS of black ink over the foam pad that runs under the printhead and on 2 plastic-like pads that are to the right side of the foam pad.

What could be causing the build up of surplus black or is it normal?

This is as far as I managed to strip the printer i dont know if it has other pads or areas that need cleaned or unblocking..

These are the 3 pads i have managed to clean you can see here.

I either broke something when i opened it up to clean the printer or it was broke already but i seemed to fix it perfectly fine using resin and some grey plastic, thought its worth mentioning however im certain its not causing the problems.

Help would be extremly appreciated I dont wanna throw this little beauty of a printer!

You have ink flowing out when the printer isn't printing. It shouldn't be doing that. Usually this is caused by leaky cartridges. Are you top filling? If so the plug may be leaking air or you may have a tiny crack in the sealed area of the cartridge. Also are you refilling with dye ink in the pigment cartridge? I find this might lead to leaky printheads.

I'm not familiar with the cleaning pads and wiper system of the ip4500 so I can't tell you if your repair may be interfering with the printhead cleanup, but if ink is already dripping from the printhead you need to remove the printhead and wipe away all the ink from bottom area, make sure not to touch the printheads.

Some suppliers of pigment black ink actually dilute it with dye black. The way to tell is to do a nozzle check on plain paper and after it dries, splash some water on the grid at the top of the page and see if it runs or smears. 100% pigment black will not run or smear. If this happens, then what qwertydude said with regard to dye ink in the pigment black cartridge is probably your problem. What kind of cartridge and/or refill ink or you using for the thick black cartridge?

Now that you have cleaned the purge pads and wiper blades, have you cleaned the bottom of your print head? To do this, start by opening the printer cover and unplugging the printer while the print head is in the center of the printer. Remove all the cartridges and then the print head and blot the print head against a folded-over paper towel saturated with window cleaner (or just water). Be careful not to let any liquid migrate up into the electronics of the print head. Don't turn it upside down. After many blottings produce no more ink, return the print head to the printer, reinstall the cartridges, plug it back in and do a nozzle check. Don't leave the cartridge out of the print head too long because you don't want ink to dry out inside it and cause clogged nozzles.
