Good day

I am an elderly lady so please excuse my lack of knowledge. The printer in question, Canon i9950 which has 8 inks is fine except for
in the nozzle tests (i) the cyan rectangular block is half light and half dark and should be a solid colour and (ii) no yellow ink at all. I called
Canon in South Africa but to no avail as they are only interested in doing contract repairs and say this is an old model.
By googling I came across this forum and read the posts by Mr Trigger and others which seem helpful if you understand all of it.
I have no idea where to find the purge pads.
When I open the printer cover and the inks are in the middle and remove them I see 8 small round pieces and behind them also 8, about 1 cm
squarish pieces. Then there is a row of white squares. I have no idea as to the correct names of these bits and pieces. Hope someone will explain.
Logic tells me that somewhere there is a blockage for the yellow ink and I should try fixing it as do not want to discard this machine especially
as have many new (always Canon) cartridges which would go to waste.
I hope someone can help advising in a simple step by step way.

Thanks in anticpation.
