Canon i9900 printing problem

I have been using non Canon ink for some time. Recently, the prints are coming out with a decided shift to purple.

Does anyone have any idea about whether the problem might be bad paper, or bad ink?

I have a mix of Rainbow and Color branded cartridges which I got on line.

Canon told me that if I was not using their ink they won't help me.

Have you done a nozzle check? How does it look?

I did the check and allignment and they seem OK.

I have pulled the print head out and replaced it. I am now going to try a photo and see what happens.

Resetting the print head seemed to do the trick
