I have an Imac and had the same problem at first until I noticed a white printer icon at the bottom of the browser page. When I chick on that a utility box comes up and I click on the top selection that brings up the ink levels.

Try in Options & Supplies/Utility/Open Printer Utility/"Canon Status Monitor". I dont own a Canon printer so I'm assuming you would see "Canon Status Monitor" in my case it says Epson Status Monitor 4. I hope this may help you.

ok this is for the printfan, when you open the utility box is the top selection supply levels, if it is that is the tab that says not available when i select i, now this will be a little more difficult to run down as the laptop is not in my possession right now

Yes and on mine it shows the ink levels! Of course in my case it is just Epson telling me I need to go buy a new cartridge but since I use a cis system with automatically resettable chips, It's not that important, sorry It doesn't work on your set up!

ok the last resort LOL call canon, these printers are so easy to setup, proper setup was not done, in the utility tab there is a selection for usb or network, it is setup for usb (and works fine except for not showing ink levels on the monitor) now it needs to be removed and reinstalled as a network, oh did i fail to say it is being used wireless
