I have an Epson 1430 and am using InkJet Mall EZFill carts. Several carts were showing poor nozzle checks and I decided to swap the carts filled with IJM's Piezoflush. I reset all carts before inserting them. However, three nozzle checks in a row show as totally blank. Piezoflush is tinted a light red for visible nozzle checks - they are faint but definitely visible when the checks are good.

Perhaps I simply need to be patient and wait a few hours. The blank checks were only about 1/2 hour ago. As I look back, I don't think the carts went through a priming cycle, to my recollection. But shouldn't three checks serve as priming?

TIA,

Paul

Welcome to self-refiller training camp, Week 1. I had the same experience. Week 2 was cross contamination between inks because i had started to swap cartridges while not closing the air plugs and therefore dripped so much ink that it cross contaminated the print head nozzles. Week 3 i figured out that some type of cartridges do not have enough ink flow when only opening the designated air plug, you also need instead to open the refill air plug. Since week 4 i have driving mostly accident free.

Not sure in which week i'll give up on cartridges and go for an L1800.
