Hi, All,
This probably has been asked numerous times before, but let's try one once more.
I have a Canon i850 in Florida that takes BCI-3 cartridges. I have a Ip4000 here in Michigan that takes BCI-6 cartridges. The question is, can I use the BCI-6 cartridges in my I850? I have quite a few of the BCI-6's and would like to take them to Florida if they will work there on the I850.
Thanks,
Exxeroid

Hi, You can: all newer Canon inktanks are backwards compatible. So you can put CLI-8 cartridges in BCI-6 or BCI-3 equipped printers. The chip is not used then, but you can take advantage of the better Chromalife CLI-8 ink making your prints last much longer than the older BCI-3 ink. After they are empty you can even resell them to people willing to refill them and have a one time availability of a working ink level status on the newer chipped printers.

I won't be able to check things out until I get to my I850 in Florida, which won't be untill late November.
I will let you know when I find out.
I am comcerned if I have stored the ink and print head correctly in order to have no cloggs after being just sitting for about 8 months.
But I will report back when I get there and try it out.
Thanks for the concerns.
