I need to replace my HP printer, but not with an HP. Looking are canon and epson. I want to use mikling refillable cartridge and ink. Does anyone have a printer that is older that 2 years old and still working? Or is 2 years the life of most printers?
I don't want to add to the landfill anymore with these throw away printers.
I use the printer for home printing for coupons, straight printing, I do jewelry and quilting sometimes and print pictures of them, but that is not very often. They are more just to have a copy of what I have done.
Any help would be appreciated.

Most any of the canon newer printer all have refillable carts and should last you years, way more than 2 years. I have an MX860 which is 3 years old and is still going strong. As long as it uses seperate carts for each color they should be refillable and will provide you long life.

If you need to replace your HP printer then try and pick-up a second hand Canon or Epson from somewhere,
failing that then go for a new one with separate cartridges as recommended by pearlhouse.

The older printers are a little better built and tend to last much longer,
the oldest one I have and working away and is about 9 years old.

There are so many good printers to pick from now it would be hard for me to recommend a particular Manufacturer to you
just as long as its Epson or Canon because they are the most popular models now.

Good luck with your search and I hope you get a good one..:)
