i know that they were getting out of the bulk ink business, but they are the only ones that carried the silicone plugs that i use, recently the site is down and the phone # is no longer in service. does anyone know if they are going to reopen for any business

Computer Friends ( http://www.cfriends.com/ ) has refill kits that include plugs to replace the ball in bci-6 carts. They are blue and are probably silicone. Their kits are expensive but their ink is reasonable. It is reputed to be Image Specialist ink. You might contact them to see if they will sell the plugs separately. Just ask for the blue plugs for refilling bci-6 carts. More recently I've been buying IS inks from Precision Colors (http://home.eol.ca/~mikling/ ) It is identified as Image Specialist ink as opposed to Computer Friends and MIS who are reputed to sell Image Speicalist inks but do not identify them as such. It is also reasonably priced and the service is very good.

Mikling also sells silicone plugs as fotofreek said. He has sold lots of the plugs alone but currently does not list this on his eBay store - http://stores.ebay.com/PrecisionColors. You can see the plugs, though, since they are included in many of his Canon replacement ink package deals.

Mikling is a member of this forum. I've talked to him on the phone and purchased his inks - he is a good guy. Consider contacting him here or using his eBay store to email him your request.

BTW, Mikling's Image Specialist inks are fantastic!

Whoops, looks like Ebay removed my listing for the plugs as it looks like they no longer list anything under a dollar. So I increased my price a penny to a dollar even.

Precision Colors appears to be the only online vendor who positively identifies his inks as Image Specialists. I use them with the standard Canon profiles with excellent results. I also agree that the service is great and the prices very reasonable. Mikling was a very valuable participant in this forum prior to going into the ink business, and he continues to contribute here with excellent advice.
