Hi folks,

bought a new printer, ran the genuine inks and after my 3rd set of refils with GTI ink the cyan has blocked again on the new Canon head.

Tried new inks etc nothing working, just printing very red and cyan not showing on the nozzle check, what could be causing this to block?

Refilling the 526 opaque cartridge is a little harder to do
simply because you cant see just how much ink youre putting in.

The most common problems that can occur with these cartridges is one overfilling which can easily clog the air maze
and the other is not using enough ink which then runs out to quickly especially if youre not using a resetter.

The link below is a good tutorial on how to fill the opaque cartridge without running in to trouble.

Hi Hat,

had posted this before, we refilled approx 400/500, 526 cartridges over the last 2 years and the last september out of the blue the cyan ink has started blocking (as mentioned before in previously) we weigh and measure the ink and every colour is totally fine appart from the cyan.

My colleague thinks that it may have a longer passage between the cartridge / head fill hole to the ink exit point and is therefore blocking more easily.

We also think the blue ink is more viscous than it used to be, can it be thinned at all and if so what with?

I do remember you previous post referring to many refills, but we can make mistakes from time to time,
nobody is immune from human error.

Yes your ink could be thinned in one sense if youre having problems and you think its the ink,
then try using a more reputable and known ink from another ink supplier..:)
