Aftermarket ink for my printer?

Guys i bought A canon MG6820 to replace my old printer but i didn't realize that the cost of new ink is 70$ which is the same price as my current printer, i have seen some aftermarket ink on amazon.com that had 5 stars and no complains from people im a college user i print often details it's not my type i don't care about the quality much, but i want to know if it can damage the actual printer.

Alot of users say don't buy aftermarket filled carts cos inkflow is not ok for your printer head
USA go for PC.
