Sep 28, 2021 Update.
Hi startman,
I noticed that there are many types of knock-off ink available some of the big 13x19 ecotank printers like the "EcoTank Photo ET-8550"
Do you think we could get away with getting one of these EcoTank printers, and then using ink like this guy sells...
is that a thing?
eek i'll have to watch for it.
ya we're in a weird niche wherein we print enough 13x19 canvas to not be considered "personal home users," but we don't do quite enough printing to rationalize upgrading to a more sophisticated operation -- with a better 13x19 printer.
The cool...
That's true you helped me a lot !
I looked into Staples.
It looks like they do give 25% back. But it's on your Staples Reward card. So I think it's store credit. But still, 25% is a lot if you spend 1000 bucks.
I could probably let it build up, buy a Staples laptop, and then sell it on eBay...
Oops I meant "canon" not "epson" above.
Yikes this sounds like an involved process. The point of buying the genuine ink in bulk was to avoid messing with the refilling process. (I'm not a very good refilling technician still.)
Ideally, we just want to print and throw the cartridge in the...
hi, its the Canon Pixma iX6820
I'm ok with buying many of the same color.
Are you saying i should buy this, but then get the ink out of the bottle and put it into a refillable cartridge? Is that possible?

Don't those Canon bottles have that weird top to them?
Obviously, I have always used the typical Amazon link when i buy genuine Canon ink.

But i'm just wondering if there is some "bulk order" button buried on the Canon website someplace where I could buy in bulk?
e.g. If i really wanted the genuine stuff, do i gott...
With our Artisan printer, I think we did the software reset a half dozen times. Plus we use the external tank kit -- which we would dump out a couple times a month.
With the Canon Pixma iX6820 we haven't even attempted to do waste ink management yet. I'm assuming it'll be an issue soon though...
Yes we used to use the software + external tank method for our Artisan printer.
With the Pixma iX6820 though, we haven't even bothered yet.
Maybe we'll have an overflow event someday. But the Pixma iX6820 is so cheap that I don't really care yet.
The idea goal would be to find something...
Hi, i'm confused about this message.
Are you saying in can increase the number of pages i can print with my Canon Pixma iX6820 by using the ink from the Canon PIXMA G5020?
How would this work?
I definitely don't mind buying and running two simultaneous printers.
I also understand we need an array of cartridges that are ready to hot swap.
Mostly my goal was to not have to babysit the printers so much. With our current Canon Pixma iX6820, the ink cartridges are so tiny that we're...
thanks
I can get an Epson Ecotank L1800 delivered to USA via eBay
http://ebay.com/itm/193875418330
For the ink i'm not very knowledgeable about it. We've been using this ebay stuff http://ebay.com/itm/201362489925 which i think is dye?
Looks like someone sells L1800 Ink Refill genuine bottles...
yes paper feeding is definitely an issue
The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16600 has a small rear feeder slot. But i don't think we could put more than 3-4 pages in there. (Maybe I could jerry rig my own SIY rear slot though... hmm... I could build some sort of paper shelf...)
It looks like the Epson...
Thanks
Looks like they got the Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16600 on Amazon

The ink looks like 80 bucks to refill though. But maybe it's worth it
Do you think i'd do ok with ebay ink? http://ebay.com/itm/124343268523
Thanks

I'm having trouble locating the model numbers of the printers you quoted. I'm...
Thanks for reading my post!
We've had a decade of bad printer luck and I'm hoping you guys can recommend a good alternative.
