Had a crack "Hat" but stuffed it up proper! Super glue spilled, one pin fell into printer, etc. snafu
It's the bin for it me bucko, subject closed. Thanks for your help M8 and if I ever get to Ireland, I'll buy you a few Guinness or Bourbons.
Good to hear from you "Hat", been a while. I tried prying the chip up a bit and thought of the solder bit
but it's all getting too hard for this ol' boy so the bloody thing will probably finish in the tip or give it to someone for parts. Can you tell me whether 651 carts will do the job on a...
Hi all, Another post as things are moving along.
I've got a heap of ink for my now dead MX726 and can get a TS 6360 on the cheap so my question is:
Can I use C650 black and C651 colour cartridges in a printer which takes C680 and C681?
TIA
Harry
Hi all,
I posted yesterday asking about replacing and/or repairing the cartridge carrier but from what I can find out,
that is beyond my pay grade :idunno
As a last resort before I toss this MX726 to the great print shed in the sky, is there a way to override the "cartridge not recognised" so...
Hi all,
some time since I've needed help but I'm back due to this problem:
I changed cartridges on my MX726 but I got the message the magenta was not recognised. I've had this before
as I use after market cartridges so did the usual, turn off, unclip, turn back on etc.
No luck but when I pushed...
I didn't want to swap cartridges and/or chips, just get the printer to print from the PG650 tank instead of the CLI651
I only print documents now, usually in black text and occasionally colour on normal reflex paper but no piccies so if I understand what you say PeterBJ, the printer is only...
Hi all, back again with another Q for the Gurus
I have an MX726 running 651 cartridges...C, M, Y and B, together with 1 x 650 B.
I have 6 of the PG650 and just about out of the 651.
My question is:
Is there a way to get the printer to use the PG650 instead of the CLI651?
I don't do any photos...
Thanks for the advice guys :D
Had a look at the Maxfly models........for what I wanted a bit dear. A cheaper model which may not last is probably the way to go unless I save some pennies. Anyway, it's a non event now. I was going to give my MX726 to the daughter and buy another one for myself...
Hi all......again :frow
I've been reading some of the posts here for interest and maybe learn some things and I got to thinking about another printer and would like some input on the best/cheapest Canon for my requirements. I'm going to print less these days as my Grand kids will be doing do...
Buggar me, I got a torch and magnifying glass, (the mince pies aint what they used to be) and sure enough, one of the very small contacts was bent slightly downwards. I gently pried it back, gave the contacts a wipe with a cotton bud with alcohol on it and all is good :celebrate
Once again...
Hi all, I know this has been done to death but I've tried every trick I know but can't get any sense out of the printer.
I purchase compatible cartridges through flea bay and have had no problems to speak of. The occasional "this cartridge is not recognised" but I've solved it usually by...
Hi all, have had help here before and luckily have had no problems for a while but now........
I have a Canon MX726 and have used generic cartridges for this and other Canons with little problems but this one has me stumped. Got the usual message "this tank is not recognised" etc, took out the...
Sooooo, are you saying only the PGI-650 black should not be refilled but the CLI-651 colours are OK?
I'm curious if it's only the PGI-650's......why? Is black different ink? Or something else?
Thanks "Hat", I'll use the refillables until I run out of ink and then rethink things. They are cheap enough and I normally only use them two or three times anyway. As the "technician" asked......is there a reason to not refill the PGI-650's?
Hi Hat,
I may be wrong, (I usually am according to the Minister of war and finance), but I thought as the cartridges are much the same type, the procedure for refilling the MX726 would be the same as I have done in the past with the ip4850. OEM's are pretty expensive.
These are the ones I've...
