No rubberbands, no tape, no leaks, no crap!!
My cost to refill a CLI-8 is ~30...
"I can guarantee you that I will make an absolute mess of the hot glue >_> and possibly fail to seal the hole properly anyways." I believe you, attitude is everything!
"Having to repeat the sealing process every refill will definitely be too involved for me to handle." Not if you don't change...
"I know I can't do top-fill because it requires an air-tight seal that I can't produce (my German hole is all jagged from my attempts to cut off all the little plastic bits, and yes, I use scotch tape to plug the hole)."
Not so! Buy a hobbyist's hot glue/melt gun and use it to seal the top...
Jim, I posted such a list previously on this site, probably more than once. Search for it, it lists several reliable vendors accepted by this community and several other websites, such as Dpreview.

Gents, I think I'm observing the effects of a low ink level and lots of air in the cart. At this point when printing a large pix, 13x19 or more I'm seeing some banding start. If, several minutes later I print a smaller pix, 6x9, no banding. Should I print another large pix 5,10 or 20 mins later...

Rod, No, it was my suggestion that we freeze our inks that was taken too seriously. Our posters used ice-cube trays and when summer came (global warming!!) they (the cubes) were thrown into the punch bowls--even my Colormunki got drunk (pun intended!!).
Best to you in OZ--look me up sometime...
Must be the ink, I suggest you back to my satirical article of last year describing how make your own from fruits & veggies. I even included suggestions about re-converting all that paper (inro photo paper) my (US) government used to print a zillion copies of the US Health Bill-each copy was...
If your rubber/plastic plus no longer fit this cart you can use a 6-32 or 4-32 stainless steel bolt. Depending on the hole size now existing you may be able to 'self-thread' it or enlarge the hole.
Dont worry about the ball or plug falling in the ink chamber, they are inert and wont affect your...
These are the plugs and caps needed for the CLI8 cart. I have been using them in my OEM carts for >5 yrs.
The plugs fit into the top fill hole and seal well, they will get roughed up with usage, buy spares. The caps seal the output port (to the printer) while refilling and during storage. Get...
Pharmacist, this is the full title of the link I get when opening it in a new window. I just retried, still there, same message. Can only blame it on the 'big pond' between us...
Apotheker, contacting Dano Steinhart of Epson should help your cause. He is at the top of their food chain.
