Can anyone comment on the viability of an epson 2200 with epson ink printing on staples photo supreme double sided mat?
I need some photos printed before the end of the week and I don't have time to test or profile, can this paper be effectively used with stock profiles? Or should I just go...
lin,
Do you have any idea how difficult it would be to install a replacement timing strip?
From the looks of it I think it could be easily fed through the head and attached on both sides of the printer.
lin,
thanks very much for your insight. i believe it is now fixed!
there was actually several places on the timing strip with black ink on it (i actually bought it 2nd hand as a malfunctioning printer). i cleaned it off as best i could though I probably wasn't gentle enough. I also applied some...
I'm still experiencing the same printing problems; vertical color banding.
During nozzle checks I always get a vertical empty line down the cyan column but everything else is now good.
So far I've:
-run plenty of head cleanings
-run alignment
-I bought some head cleaning fluid, soaked the...
I got this bat file working however when I tried to get task scheduler to do it I ran into problems.
the copy command wasn't working properly, it needed a full path, like so:
NET USE LPT3: \\5050e\EPSON2200
COPY /B c:\epson\Epson2200NozzleCheck.SPL LPT3
NET USE LPT3: /DELETE
I'm curious, is the ink supposed to be level with the carts? or below or a little higher? Or maybe it dosnt make much difference? I guess the level of the ink in the reservoir might effect it too, and that changes over time.
Is there any possibility of a siphon forming? I had a fish tank once...
lolopr1,
thanks for the info, I just bought it based on your reference.
Did yours come with an instruction manual? If so were you able to follow the directions/tips with success? This will be my first CIS, if you have any tips I'd appreciate it.

on30trainman,
thanks for the response. I hadn't realized a scanner could be used for printer profiling.
May I ask what kind of printing you do? I'm interested mostly in colour photo printing but I'm a bit lost about what kind of papers to use. Can you attest to the longevity of IS inks...
Just a few thoughts that I'm trying to hash out....
1.a) Am I correct in thinking that when maintaining proper colour management, if using 3rd party inks then I need to profile the combination of printer-ink-paper?
1.b) And this can be done by myself or having someone else do it, correct?
2)...
I already have a love-hate relationship with Epson but I know its really self recrimination.. haha
I'll be using the printer for colour printing on various photo papers, I doubt I'll be using linens and such.
What is the best way to diagnose whether or not an r1800 is in good working order? do...
I'd like to start doing photo printing myself and hate the thought of photos changing colour after a year ergo I would like to get a pigment based printer.
I really don't have 700$ to drop on a printer so could anyone recommend some older models of good pigment printers and a competitive used...
mikling,
Thank you for your informative response. I had read that some epsons could be used with pigments but I didn't know my R300 was.
I have been trying to learn about colour managment, ICC profiles and such. Can you recommend any links for someone just begining to learn?
Since pigment...
This is my first time posting but I have been reading this forum for a little while. It's been very informative, thanks.
I'm an amateur photographer and would like to start experimenting printing at home.
I've had an epson R300 laying around with a paper feed problem for a while. Just recently...
