    Resizing Image Question

I resized the image, but it couldn't keep the aspect ratio if it was going to be 1200 x 1800. It wanted it to be at 1297 x 1800. It doesn't make the image look too distorted though. Besides, if that's the size the website needs - then that's what it needs. Ed

    Resizing Image Question

Hi, I'm looking to upload my artwork to Saatchi Art website and it advises that in order to use their open edition print services, the pixel size of the image must be exact. The original scan of the artwork is a PDF file and the artwork was A4 size. A4 is 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 in but they don't offer...

Thank you for this. It gives me hope I'll get my Pro-1 back in use in the future. Ed

    Using an old printer

Printer arrived, just waiting on the calibrator. Got my latest A2 drawings scanned and had PDF's emailed to me. I'm not sure if I should ask for any other image file types from the print shop? I'm getting 2 copies of each with giclée prints. 5-7 working day lead time. I'll be interested to see...

    Using an old printer

Found the printer £50 cheaper than Canon site. So that's been bought and will be unboxed on my birthday on the 5th. I am also, currently the highest bidder on a used, but unopened colour calibrator. Listing ends in 24 hours, so fingers crossed. Ed

    Using an old printer

Yeah, I expect there to be a lot of trial and error. But so long as I'm not too hard on myself with mistakes. The idea of being self-sufficient is the main pull for me. However, I've always been good on computers and that all came from trial, error and being inquisitive. I think printing and...

    Using an old printer

Thank you for your advice. As it's my birthday soon, I'm going to be getting that printer you recommended in a couple of weeks. I'll look to get that X-Rite EODIS3PL i1Display Pro Plus to coincide with the arrival of the printer too. It's interesting mentioning a dedicated room for printing...

    Using an old printer

I'm around Cambridge in UK. I wasn't sure if online would be better to source good deals on paper etc. I definitely want colour and longevity. With that in mind, and the fact I'm going to be printing photos only - are there any good starting points with regards to paper coating and weight? I...

    Using an old printer

I could always edit on my Mac and print on my PC I suppose. Is this printer going to be different from my Pro-1 though? None of those cycles/checks which drink ink in the process? Mind you, I have a lot of photos and pieces I have to work on and want to print, so I think this will get a lot of...

    Using an old printer

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been reading the review here and it seems to mention issues with Macs with regards to printer profiles (about half way down the page): https://www.northlight-images.co.uk/canon-g550-printer-review/ Ed

    Using an old printer

I'd use genuine inks, but I need something affordable. Buying genuine Pro-1 inks will have to wait. I want to get comfortable with editing and printing on a more affordable printer first. I'm not sure about paper types to use, or affordable printers for A4 photography prints though...

    Using an old printer

Wouldn't be any bigger than A4 with this new printer - I'd use it only for my photographs, but I'd want the quality to be suitable for sales at Art & Craft fairs and exhibitions. The Pro-1 is too thirsty to be practical for me to get to grips with learning Photoshop and printing my pictures...

    Using an old printer

Thank you for all the detailed replies and the links provided. I wonder if you could recommend a budget friendly printer which would be suitable to get used to the ins and outs of printing before I get Big Bertha (my Pro-1) out of storage and start using that. I want a printer that's capable...

    Using an old printer

So these will ensure the colours seen on the screen will be accurately portrayed when it comes to printing? I found the X-Rite EODIS3PL i1Display Pro Plus for £183 from a website. Ed

    Using an old printer

Actually, scratch that. The monitor on my Macbook Pro is a lot better. But I'd rather keep costs down if I can calibrate it myself without needing to buy more things. Ed

    Using an old printer

Here's the monitor I have. This review seems to reference a lot of info about colours and things I don't really understand. https://www.tomshardware.com/uk/reviews/gigabyte-g32qc/3 I checked on the Adobe site and they said: "Neither online calibration software nor the calibration tools that...
