I never sealed the refill hole, and I'm still using my first set of carts which came with the printer 3 years ago without problems.
But as you said: it also won't hurt, I think. :)
The circuit boards look very similar:
And Sudhaus said: "We built a digital watermark into our software, and as another precaution, only 1000 of the 10000 lines of code are really necessary. When we had a look at the peach resetter, we found our watermark there and also the 9000 lines of...
Btw, I've read here that the Sudhaus Inkjet GmbH ist insolvent (they also made ink and other stuff).
But the developers of the Redsetter set up a new company named Dicodes GmbH, which will continue the production of the Redsetters.
And they're working on a new resetter for the CLI-521 - PGI-520...
I'm wondering about this for myself.
As mentionend above, I saw this here for the first time, where "Ritchman" told us what he has seen at a supermarket, and "gurl" experimented with it a little bit.
Ritchman wrote:
So, did this unnamed refill guy came up with it? Or did he hear about it...
The air in the reservoir chamber has to go somewhere when you refill ink. It seems that it leaves the cart through the big hole at the bottom without forming any bubbles (maybe because of the special materials of the small sponge/filter there? Or just because the hole is so big?), but if you put...
Yeah, I lost interest in my printer from a "scientific" point of view. I refill my carts, and the printer just does his job without complaining for years, so nothing new there. :D
But I check the printer forums from time to time to read a little bit and because I want to see if there is any...
I'm refilling my first set of PGI-5 / CLI-8 Cartridges (which came with the printer) since 2006 using this method without problems. I've only had ink coming out both holes you describe when I put too much ink in there (the reservoir was already full). Maybe it can also happen when your needle is...
Hi, I think I mentioned this refill method here for the first time, but of course it was not my idea:
I saw it first mentioned 2006 on the druckerchannel.de printer forum by the user "Ritchman" who told us he was at a supermarket and saw a salesman using this method, who told him he already had...
Hi Dan!
No, I did not drill a hole there, but there is already one: the normal vent hole which every cart has.
Yes... there is a small "pit" where I drilled the hole. But I think it does not matter where exactly you drill the hole, as long as you can make it air tight afterwards.
Well, that...
I pierced the foam of my yellow cart 400x to test this. No problems so far.
I'm still using my first set of cartridges (which came with my printer 2 years ago) without problems, using the Durchstich method and Inktec ink (but I guess every quality ink will do).
Most people at the druckerchannel.de forum have ordered their redsetter from patronenhandel.de. There were no problems whatsoever so far.
Well, this doesn't help you obviously :), but until now you are the only person I heard of who reported a problem with that shop.
I hope your problems will...
I buy 100ml bottles of Inktec ink. 1l is too much for my needs, but 100ml is just fine.

Krauss-Tinte
These shops might not be an option for you because of the shipping costs, but I guess there must be shops near you which also have 100ml bottles.
Yes, that should be no problem.
Btw, my guess is this: RKS wanted to sell their own resetter, but the producer could not deliver in time. So they chose to buy the redsetter instead and ship it to their customers. I think most people don't care if their resetter is black or red. The only big...
When looking at the ebay feedback profile of "magic-chip" it seems that a lot of people did not receive the advertised black RKS resetter, but the Redsetter. But I think most people are happy nevertheless, since the redsetter works fine.
Carts with compatible chips: Pelikan
The carts look a bit different but function nicely, including the chips and the LEDs. The ink is okay, and you can mix Pelican carts and original Canon carts.
Carts with compatible chips: Pearl "Icolor"
The first samples of the carts manufactured by the...
Hi everybody, I had the following conversation with somebody at Youtube:
So... does anybody know where to buy needles with a sharp tip in the USA? Or do you use a blunt needle without problems and can drop me a hint how to do so?
I really have no idea if blunt needles are problematic, since...
I don't own any of the resetters available, but I think the resetter from your link is a little bit more difficult to handle.
They have a YT video of the resetter ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFOYEnV5xZI ) and there you can see that you have to connect the resetter to the printer with a USB...
Druckerchannel.de tested the resetter. I tried to give a short translation here:

To put it in a nutshell: it seems to work well. The battery of the cheaper model is officially "non-replacable", but the distributor said that...
Oh right, the RKS resetter is the other resetter I read about. I've read no test or user comments so far, but I guess it will have the same electronics inside like the redsetter and will also work fine.
Btw: if you would buy the RKS resetter and the small blue chip clips (RKS Chip-Extender), you...
FYI: The distributor of the redsetter said in the druckerchannel.de forum that it is not really a problem to replace the battery. The body of the resetter has some plastic clips (no glue or things like that), and the battery is a small round "coin cell"which you can also find in wrist watches...
