    CISS for Canon imagePROGRAF TA-20

Hey Ink Stained Fingers. Thanks for your reply. The prices of the OEM Canon cartridges are extremely high, and I'm going on the assumption that using those OEM carts will not be cost effective, since that always seems to be the case with all other printers. So, the goal, of course, is to be able...

    CISS for Canon imagePROGRAF TA-20

Hmm. I don't think that is true. The TA-20 has disposable cartridges. To use a non-OEM ink, you have to drill holes in the disposable cartridges and refill them with a syringe. That's not a CISS. I'm asking about an external tank continuous flow system.

    CISS for Canon imagePROGRAF TA-20

Is anyone aware of a CISS that will work in on Canon imagePROGRAF TA-20? I see only cartridge refills for this model. Thanks.

    Meltdown of Print Head Alignment

Thanks. I posted images showing the vertical head alignment pattern before and after the trouble started. The second image shows exactly how the last 20 prints look. Nothing I do makes any change, including changing numbers using the alignment program. They seem stuck in the position shown on my...

Is updating the firmware something that could help a problem like this?

    Meltdown of Print Head Alignment

The strip looks prettty clean to me. Placed a white strip of paper behind it and examined with a flashlight. Looks clean.

    Thanks. Tried that. No affect.

    Meltdown of Print Head Alignment

Thanks. I tried that numerous times. As I said, after the third or fourth pass, changing the numbers had no affect. The heads seem stuck in their positions.

    Meltdown of Print Head Alignment

Hi all. I hope you can help me with an odd problem. For awhile, I’ve been using an Epson WF-7710 to print images on Canon semi-gloss paper. I’m using a CISS but only fill it with Epson 512 bottled ink. Have never used anything but that ink and have always had good results with this setup...

Identical Epson printers on Mac, different drivers

I have an Epson WF-7710 running on Mac OS High Sierra (10.13). I love the WF-7710 so much I just bought a second one used. On my original, I'm running driver version 10.33. See below screenshot of Mac System Preferences info window for the original, called "EPSON WF-7710-A". But the used...

Epson WF-7710 CISS or Refillable Catridges

Skipping your questions for now about monitor. I’m using prints from WF-7510 as the yardstick for color, and comparing them to the prints of WF-7710, trying to make the WF-7710 prints more closely resemble the WF-7510 prints. You asked “Which driver settings did you use to print the patch...

Epson WF-7710 CISS or Refillable Catridges

Thanks Ink Stained Fingers. I'm grateful that you're willing to help me sort this out. It seems like I should give a short background of my printing environment before I answer your questions. I gather pre-existing digital images of historic subject matter from public-domain archives and sell...

Epson WF-7710 CISS or Refillable Catridges

Ink Stained Fingers -- Thanks for all your help. I'm now printing on the Epson WF-7710 using Epson 512 (aka 106 in Europe) ink with semi-success. I had a custom printer profile created from a source that I believe to be reliable. But, the profile only got me about half-way to where I had hoped...

Epson WF-7710 CISS or Refillable Catridges

Yeah, so the Epson 512 four-pack includes CMY and "Photo Black." Then, separately, you can buy just 512 Black. Is the "Photo Black" the dye-based, and the regular "Black" pigment-based?

Epson WF-7710 CISS or Refillable Catridges

Ink stained Fingers -- thanks very much. I'm learning alot and I appreciate you sharing your wisdom and experience. I'd like to be able to stick with the quality of Epson brand inks, and so it sounds like I should pursue the idea of using 502 replacement bottles with refillable cartridges in my...

Epson WF-7710 CISS or Refillable Catridges

Yeah, I was wondering about that. I looked at the Epson ET-7700/7750 ecotank printers you mentioned, and it says that they take the Epson T512 refill bottles. So, do you know from experience that these T512 bottles (or the 106 equivalent in Europe) will work on an Epson WF-7710 using refillable...

Epson WF-7710 CISS or Refillable Catridges

Ink stained Fingers, thanks. I'm going to start with refillable cartridges for my WF-7710. Is it true that dye-based inks are less prone to clogging? Can you (or anyone else) recommend a brand of INK, keeping in mind that I'm printing on semi-gloss inkjet paper, and my priorities are vibrant...

    Epson WF-7510 feed problem

Need help fixing a problem with an Epson WF-7510. When printing on 13x19 semi-gloss sheets, the feeder stops advancing the sheet during the last 1 to 2 inches of the sheet, causing that portion of the print to be botched. See examples below. I carefully removed the roller assembly that sits just...

Epson WF-7710 CISS or Refillable Catridges

Thanks, Ink Stained Fingers. This is exactly the type of insight I was hoping this forum could provide. Yes, I get the impression that most of the CISS systems I see at Amazon, Ebay, etc. are poorly-made and not well supported. Most seem to get only about a 50% satisfaction rating. Since I print...

    Hello everybody / Epson WF-7710

Thanks, Ink Stained Fingers. Per the advice of stratman above, I reposted this thread in the Epson forum. I quoted your post there and responded. https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/epson-wf-7710-ciss-or-refillable-catridges.13593/#post-117856
