Hi Mods,
Purchased of of the HP printers that come with a free 'instant ink' trial (x number of months).
Once you sign up - it provides you with a refer-a-friend code.
You are encouraged to give this to others - so that they apply this to their account - both of you receive a complimentary...
Damn,
There goes my clever master plan to defeat the defeat device!
I like the canons (MG range) - but by building in this designed obsolescence through ink pad serviceing - and removing proper cassettes - they really are shooting themselves in the foot.
You've hit the nail on the head. The ink pads will saturate comparatively quickly - making the investment a write off - earlier than is reasonable.
If I have understood correctly - It takes a longer time to ready itself, as the print head can print to an extremely high resolution - this also...
Thank
Thank you for your input THE HAT, I take your advice well.
Regarding the compatibles - it seems I have been misinformed by a prominent ink seller - from your advice I accept compatibles do indeed void any warranty.
I want to buy a cannon - simply because of the quality of the photo...
Can I ask when this was introduced - I'm thinking of looking for the few leftovers that might be floating around in the back of stockrooms - older generations.
Once the problem was fixed with a new power supply - what did you think of the device - or if you returned it for a refund-not-a-refund-buyback, do you know anybody else that finally liked and accepted this unit?
I have it on my shortlist - but want opinions of what it's like to own, use and...

Two things a apparent - quality of the ink & build quality of the cartridge - are key.
Living in the UK - what other refill ink - would forum members suggest...
Thank you to each of you for sharing your wisdom on this:
In the UK - the manufacturer has to prove that the compatibles were the cause of the damage to the printer - and canon are quite reasonable about this. Also - there is a retailer here in the UK - John Lewis - that provide a very good...
Hello Ink Stained Fingers & The Hat,
I appreciate the input.
In terms of my parents needs -
A) Duplex - the more parts in a device the more complex it is - the more things can go wrong - so happy to flip the paper over by hand instead.
B) Scanner necessary (duplex not a deal breaker) - but...
