Dye sublimation only works on Polyester garments, if you are using cotton or a dark garment then a pigment ink onto a material like jetpro Soft Stretch, this ideally should be cut out through bleed to give a nice finish, this actually does last a very long time without fading but the transfer...
To be fair on the i1io its pretty stable and not designed to be taken out and about all the time. but used properly it will last a long time it saves me many hours in reading thick material, for thin i use a Isis. My prefernece is a barbieri but theyre very expensive and not much software works...
The Solux looks good its got a very high CRI of 98 so thats amazingly good. Ive never used them but ill take a peak myself . Ill be interested in your findings.
use Flourescent lights with a temp of 5000 - 5000K high CRI at or above 90 ideally these are called full spectrum lights, CRI of 100 is perfect but this isnt available, these will give a smooth spectrum lower the cri the more spikes in the spectrum meaning some colours render differently...
My two penneth, the bulk systems arent made by ANY of those companies listed, they are all chinese and rebranded, Neither is the INK this is also imported. so get on alibaba / ebay and order a bulk system. Then use something like inktec k3 or another reliable brand with a darker black ink ;)...
I have a roll of Hahnemuhle 190gsm spare 36inch width x 12 metres if anyone wants it check the prices cheapest ive seen it is £156 plus delivery.
Im selling it for £100.00 plus delivery. or free delivery if pickup from me in Whitely Bay near Newcastle upon Tyne ENGLAND..
Hahnemuhle is brilliant but also pricey. Fotospeed papers are good, many people dont know that only a few places make paper most others are rebranded ;).
The issue also looks like adobe rgb in the ocp and srgb in the powerchrome giving the appearance of flat reds. Were they both using the same profile settings? I do rate Inktec k3 inks , could do with better black L values however.
Save some money use a 3800 and third party Inks there was no difference between the 3880 and 3800 bar VIVID MAGENTA inks, just the same as the 78 9800 and 7880 9880
Ken
INktec ink is indeed a good ink however the BLACK has a typical L value of most 3rd party inks of around L17 , to Epsons L-7 . I use my own black l-5 and I now have no need to use matte black on my canvas prints ;).
