Hi Japaboy, thank you for the advice.
I'll be happy to help
Please find below a picture of the opened scanner
That little spring for sure doesn't belong to the scanner unit.
I suppose that it comes from here
or here
I had a look at the part catalogue and there is no mention of such a...
I would like to thank you all for the help.
The culprit was the ribbon cable that slipt out of the FFC connector, probably it went unnoticed while reassembling the scanner for the first time
When I reopened the scanner i saw this:
the ribbon cable was flying around!
So I just had to...
Today I finally found the time to resume the scanner unit transplant.
It was easier than I tought. I just took the scanner unit from the "Donor" printer and put it in the other one, as you can see from the picture below.
When I turned on the printer for the first time....
TA-DA...
Hi, just wondering how long will last a stored cartridge. After getting mad trying to refill carts on my Epson XP-810, I have resumed the repair job on my Canon MP-610 with broken glass (https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/mp610-broken-scanner-glass-how-to-change-it.9500/).
It is unused...
A long time has passed since my last post.
Now I have few updates for fellow users of XP-600 and 800 series printers (26 series carts).
I discovered that refill 26 carts is very easy, just drop the ink with a syringe on the ink outlet and quickly the cartridge is refilled.
Also using an ARC...
@websnail any news about the CIS you were testing or about refilling original OEM cartridges?
A almost finished the starter cartridges and I have to make a decision if to go for a CIS or refill the starters.
From what I saw on the internet, resetter are widely available and also CIS or even...
From what I red into the main topic about carts for 600 and 800
(http://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/epson-xp-600-and-800-series.7932/)
at that time (2014) CISS were a mess also.
Did it change since then?
If someone can advice about a reliable CISS he\she uses, it could be a feasible option
Do you mean non-OEM carts with ARC chips?
I must admit to be very confused about it.
This topic is also discussed in another thread, www.printerknowledge.com/threads/epson-xp-600-and-800-series.7932 and they report that the non-OEM cartridges are unreliable
and the same went for the ARC chips...
nobody's home? :)
Or nobody refilling them anymore ?
In the meanwhile I found some resetters on Internet (e.g. http://www.ebay.it/itm/191245166441?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649)
Someone says that they work also with Starter carts, others say No!. Someone have a final...
I red the whole thread from page one and I am very confused now on what to do.
I have an XP-810 and want to go on resetting the OEM carts (possibly the starter carts) leaving the original chip (= using a resetter) and refilling them with the dribble method.
I understand from previous posts...
A further question: anyone knows if the chip resetter (e.g.. the following

can reset...
This method is unknown to me. Could you please share more details about it?
If it works also on 22XX carts would be really nice. The only method I know is this one ...
Hi all,
the original OEM carts slowly got empty. Now I need to refill or buy new ones.
Is there any update on how to refill such carts?
I saw around a few CIS systems. Are they any good? How do they perform?
Thank you in advance for the help
The "Donor" printer has finally arrived. The scanner glass is fine and now I will proceed with the transplant...
I will post all the steps as a guide, for the time being here you are the preliminary steps:
1)
for first I removed the printer top cover with the scanner unit. Just follow the...
Thank you,really appreciated :)
I'll give the Octopus method a try.
It's a pity, very good printer but too much expensive to run (apart from re-filling of course...)
