I have tried a different OEM cartridge and get the same result.
I have tried plugging it directly into the computer, bypassing the USB hub, same results.
I bought DAWN detergent and am going to soak the bottom of the printhead in it.
Do I really need to do it a for entire week?
Or couple of days...
First of all, the reason information I am giving seems confusing to sone people, is because people keep referring to my old post.
This POST HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OLD POST!
This new printer is brand new that was sealed. The prnt head is a brand new Canon printhead that was vacuum sealed...
It worked just for three weeks of very casual printing and now, this. Everyone tells me thisis a great printer, built llike a tank. I am certainly starting to doubt this after electronic problem in the brand new print head three weeks into its life
What can cause the printhead to develop this problem? I am on my third print head.
The printer is plugged into a powered Belkin USB hub. Could it be the hub sending electricity and overloading the printer?
How do I clean the contacts? With rubbing alcohol?
I have a new ip4500 that I have used for about a month.
All of a sudden, the magenta has developed streaks right in the middle of the color.
I have done multiple cleanings and deep cleanings and the problem has not been solved.
Attaching couple of scans.
Could somebody please tell me how to...
I am going to try to fix the mechanical problem of the old printer. Just want to clarify about cleaning the lurge unit.
Is the purge unit a part on the very right that is rectangular with a sponge soaked in black ink? There are actually two of them right next to each other. If it is the case...
The old one will always turn on.
Yet, sometimes it doesn't move the head carriage at all, and the lights flash four times, green/yellow.
Other times, it would turn on and the lights will not flash. The green light is stable. Yet, when I try to print, I get an error code 5100.
Attaching a...
I do have another ip4500 that is old and not working. The cartridge in it will not move at all.
Maybe if we can determine what is causing this problem in my current printer, perhaps I could swap that part from the old ip4500?
Unless, of course, if we come to the final consensus that it is the...
Hi folks,
I have completed the service mode diagnosis.
Here are the two scans from that process.
How do they look to you?
What can you tell from these?
Just changed out the Magenta to a brand new generic cartridge. Did the nozzle check. Made absolutely NO difference.
I do have an OEM, but it needs to be refiled first. New generic one should have made the difference right?
Since it didn't, what does this tell us?
cleaned the contacts on both the head and the carriage.
Run a nozzle check. Did not change anything at all.
And yes, this is a refurbished printhead.
Any other solutions?
Here is a scan of the unsaturated print test I am referring to. The second image I am uploading is the print test with my old defective print head. You can see how much more the colors are saturated with the old head, even though it had burned nozzles.
Print Test Page is what I am referring to. It prints the pattern and it is unsaturated. I just checked that the top of the cartridges are completely clear of tape, and the air channels are completely unobstructed.
I use OEM cartridges refilled from the top with plugs attached afterwards. I use Precision Colours high quality fresh ink purchased from them one month ago. My print head was damaged, and I ordered the refurbished one from Hong Kong. In a meanwhile, I sealed the freshly refilled cartridges...
