Ok thanks will crop the next one after installing new cartridges, hopefully on Monday. I'm beginning to fear that I may have to buy a new ('imitation', non OEM) print head again. They are available on ebay from China for as little as €20 or so so it's not the end of the world if I do.
For what it's worth....I changed the Windows update settings on my back to automatic update.
I restarted the laptop and tried a test print using the standard Windows 10 app (i.e., right click on a photo in, say, Windows explorer, and select print for the range of options that appear in the...
I'm not clear on whether my laptop will at some point attempt to download the other, bug-ridden, update. So I adjusted my settings to postpone new updates for 35 days (the maximum postponing period permitted) to be on the safe side.

I just tried a test print using the Windows 10 app (i.e., right click on a photo, and select the print option) and it came out fine. I also tried a Word print and it...

I had a similar nozzle check with a Canon inkjet 18 months ago - worse even - and I did have to buy a new printhead. I was able to find a cheap aftermarket one. It is working fine. You might want to look into trying a cleaning solution before forking out for a printhead.
:)
Yes my mum orders from that 123ink.ie website for her printer cartridges. I have to say though even the prices on there are a bit more than I'm prepared to pay. I reckon I'll continue buying generics (I buy from Colour Direct) and live with the risk of clogging nozzles every so often. I must...
There's an old HP in the house that I resurrected. Unless anyone has any further suggestions I will assume the Canon is kaput(?)
I suspect what is wrong is that I damaged the large nozzle while taking the rubber thing off with a tweezers before cleaning. But no point forking out for a new...
