The PRO-10 I bought used (with <100 pages) almost 5 years ago is now at 2750, mostly A4.
Including nozzle checks, cleaning etc counting 1ml/page that should make about 3l of ink or 300ml/colour.
This seems to be confirmed by my purchases over the years.
(I print every 2 weeks or so and shut down...
It seems there is stock at some places again

Hello Hat!
Didn't you use the Chinese ARC's ?
Had to replace one or two over the years but no problems since.
I replace a cart only when the printer says it is empty, so I do not interfere with the official routines.
This works most of the time, maybe pulling the plug and replacing all at once...
Indeed, once you get cross contamination it is difficult to eradicate due to the buffer in the printhead.
I'll try to print lots of pages full of magenta and yellow (better than filling the purge pads by cleaning cycles), but maybe I should change the carts.
PS: I refill only when the autoreset...
Dear printer friends,
Since a few months I was struggling with stripes in the magenta, cleaning didn't help.
I thought I ruined the printer by neglecting the ink low message :eek:and decided to mount a new printhead.
(FYI you need to remove 2 screws before you can lift the handle)
But by...
Great buy, congrats.
I definitely would buy a Redsetter, it makes the PRO-10 the easiest printer to refill.
The last one too, take care of it and enjoy !
A surviver here.
PRO-10 and 9500II still going strong with plenty of ink (paper and printheads) hoarded.
My best inks (OEM large format) are for the PRO-10.
The 9500 is for office work with leftovers from all the 3th party inks I ever tried ;).
Best refillable printers ever made IMO.
On the...
This printer has a steel rail as the Canon consumer printers, but should it wear that fast ?
PS: you could try to grease it (I remember applying some on the round bars of my PRO-9500).
I do not own the PRO-300 but the PRO-10 and try to think with you.
Since you suspect the printhead path, did you compare test prints in standard versus high quality settings (the latter I suppose does 2 passes) ?
Happy Newyear.
Good idea.
Both the PRO-10 and Maxify printheads are very sturdy when you and print regularly (one every few weeks is enough, forget the nozzle print scheduling and other nonsense).
Don't fiddle too much with inks either (Precision Colors, Octoink.co.uk and Canon large format inks - most...
Since I use the printer only for office documents I don't care about exact colours (although with the original inks I printed very nice photo's as a test).
The (large format) C and Y did it good a long time without clogging (for one or another reason the Octopus office M was OK), but after the...
In my (rather long) experience I must agree the printhead is very different indeed (as been explained by @Artur5 some time ago).
It is quite resistant to mistreatment (the nozzles do not burn so fast, they even seem to regenerate after some time) as long as you use appropriate inks (and print...
