Yes my MG6220 is still going strong, I've had a total of just two incidents that a tiny drop of windex remedied but other than that still going strong printing photos, enlarging star charts, copying photos, general odds and sods etc.
Largely due to the advice directly and indirectly from the...
Well I ordered mine from Chicago airbrush with some paint and other bits and bobs as just the paint alone in Canada they want to charge you almost 3x the retail for it... so its really a happy accident. One of the other things with this stuff is that it seems to behave like ink in that I...
Its out of character for you to disagree The Hat! :) but again I can see the logic in your reply, I've almost paid for my printer by refilling already, still $949 and $499 is ridiculous in my book.
Spoke to this person and he says "well they sell on amazon for $249..." so I said well they sell on ebay for $945 and $499...(that's true as I am tracking those two in my ebay watch list just for fun)...I said the model on amazon is "new old stock" your printer is "used"...
I made the guy an...
Yes I believe there are some diamonds in the rough and I guess its a case of taking a chance on them even though you cant demo them on the spot, I am after a workhorse IP series and a nice wide format printer, of course then there's the sellers who don't understand the concept of used/2nd hand...

it is! My printer may not have as good a mileage in it as the older canon's so I'll enjoy it whilst it lasts I guess. The anxiety is gone now, and its more of a pleasure to use.
cheers Ant
I finagled the clear hose onto the 226 ink outlet port and the 225 outlet port  with some hot water and persuasion but your clips make it super easy and make more sense, I got the job done though!
cheers Ant
so a small update... contacted a couple of these sellers... "so can you demonstrate the printer working?" "there's no ink...but it works..."
really..?
saw another new add..."ip4?00 no cables no ink..." ...really?
I used the same setup with distilled water and push the water through the ink outlet port to enhance the sponges filtering effect when the cartridge is in use.
Well after refilling for the first time on this machine then printing with total abandon to my hearts content I have to say I'm very happy so far, sliding the oem empty cartridge into the blue re-setter that I'd prepared with loving care and instruction from this forum, seeing the orange LED...
