I think your only problem may be build up of dried ink on the bottom of your print head.
For example, the white lines in your pigment grid are likely a result of the ink being ejected in slightly the wrong direction for some of the nozzles. You can see in the grid printout that they are not all...
OK, just make sure you abide by the rules of this forum, especially #9 under "dont's". Posting just to get a website noticed will get you banned so don't do that.
Since you are overwhelmed by so many options, you could buy everything you need from Precision Colors:

The advantage of using a printer with cartridges with a built-in print head is that a new print head solves any problem with clogged nozzles but they are not the best for refilling and they tend not to be have the highest density of nozzles. If you don't want to refill but you do want to buy...
If you have never ordered from OCP before, you can call them and tell them what printer you have and they will send you a 4oz sample of each ink you need.
My first printer (which someone gave me) was like yours and I refilled but overfilled and some cyan got into the yellow and made it green at which point I concluded that refilling would be a lot easier with a printer that had individual ink tanks.
That sponge is just the top layer of the ink absorber pad system and the sponge itself is not supposed to absorb ink--it's supposed to allow the ink to soak through it and to pass down to the pad below it.
I'm wondering if maybe the sponge comes with some kind of coating that permits the ink to...
You must mean an HP 22 as the HP 21 is the black cartridge. Are you refilling your cartridges or buying new HP ones? Fortunately, you can fix your problem just by buy another new one. To prevent this problem in the future, just make sure you leave you printer turned on all the time and print...
Yes, I agree with The Hat. Try the test again but this time just do the first part. Put liquid on the rectangular pad and see how long it takes for it to completely drain away. It should not drain away at all.
I had a problem with ink leaking out of the German refill hole while it was sitting on a desk even though I had tape over the hole. However, I probably reused the tape which may have lead to the problem so if you're going to use tape, make sure it's a fresh piece and makes a good seal.
One thing you don't want to do is leave the print head out of the printer for an extended period of time, actually more than a few minutes, or else you run the risk of getting clogs in the rest of your colors. I should have mentioned that earlier so I hope it's not too late.
You either should...
It sounds like you have the right idea about looking for yellow ink coming out of the bottom of the print head.
I doubt that hot wax would be the problem. If you see yellow ink, then you will know that it is not.
Your description is very thorough and unusual, thanks.
Unfortunately, the most likely problem is an electrical problem in the print head. What I would do is remove the cartridges and then the print head (make sure you put the lever back down) and press the print head against a paper towel to...
If all the answers are "yes", then you don't have a problem with your purge pump. Otherwise, almost all purge pump problems can be fixed but we don't want to go that way unless we know that's the problem.
That's probably good advice. One time, my boss saw my hands stained black, his eyes lit up and he asked me if I had been working on my car. When I told him I was refilling ink cartridges for my printer, his eyes glazed over.
