That would be awesome if indeed that was true. The chip will eventually declare it low as well. The Hat and Mikling can explain this subject much better than I could as they have done extensive work with Canon printers and the way the chips report ink levels.

You could be at say, 75% from physically full.
You then reset to full but not top off the liquid chamber.
The chips thinks it's full but the cart is obviously not.
You then continue printing and once the liquid chamber is empty, the prism is exposed to air and guess what that does...
The best and quickest way to solve this possible error and I must say that I will not spend days pondering what I did or may done.
I just start fresh.
In you case that would be a new fresh flushed cart/carts and fill again with the presumably correct type of C or M.

You answered yourself in your last paragraph. I just did a video on this very subject. The first thin you should after weeks of no printing is to do a nozzle check to see if there is complete full ink delivery.
So do a nozzle check. You should have a full band for each color with no gaps...
Exactly. I have old ones to compare with and they are totally difference so the claim that they only addressed some "bugs" seems far fetched. Both processes are different specially monitor calibration. It is MUCH more involved and thorough. Much more!

OK. The display profiling process is totally different in what actually takes place with the new as well as the older software. Yes the creation. Of paper profiles is different in that the second d set f patches is Aldo totally different colors and saturation.
I thought something was wrong...
I think he might want 2 sets of CLI - 42 carts. CLI-8s will of course work but he'll be still will one set.
To the OP. Yes they go for about $5 empty just about everywhere. Not much you can do. People are wizing up.

OEM ink is carefully matched to each other colors. Third party inks pretty much come from only a few sources. Most sellers sell a set composed of the basic ink colors that are available quite often will appear to physically look different than their OEM counterparts. PC as far as I know does a...
Wait! You are using refillable carts on your canon??
For best reliability you should modify, reset and refill your original carts and not use compatible or refillable carts on a canon printer. Though they may work OK they are not the best way to go.

Yeah That's what I thought!
A Mac User here will help you out I am sure.
One suggestion.
I know it is SO tempting to update the OS as soon as it is released but please think twice about doing so.
Specially after you get your problems sorted out.
