I just received my new IP4700 printer, and in the installation, it calls for my location... the detail of the question was different from my elderly printers, and I'm sure it's something I will have to undo if I perform the hacks for making it print optical disks.
The question is... if I...
If anyone is still working on this problem, on my older Canon printers, I find that I get a slight overspray that goes outside the disk location, allowing the little rollers to hit it, and makes those marks across the disk... if that happens, and I notice quickly enough, I just use a tissue to...
tigerwan,
Is this the reason I see so many reviews complaining about new Epson printers rejecting Epson OEM inks? Every one of the Epson printers I have been shopping, lately, seems to have a lot of complaints about rejection genuine Epson inks and being ink hogs. The cleaning cycle seems to be...
To explain... I use Nero Cover Designer to print my disks. It gives you the opportunity to pick a black or otherwise colored background to the disk... when I insert an image, I can select the black/gray/blue background to go with the image. That is usually when the overspray problem happens. It...
Well... maybe I did the wrong thing, but as I was looking around, I noticed that the IP4700 was being discontinued... coincidentally with the hack being confirmed for printing disks on it. As I said to another person about this... I panicked and bought one... so now, I will be ordering one of...
Bullets and Superman... in this case, we're talking about MONEY and Scrooge, and the cost of printing this thing will choke this guy, when you get it to him and he sees the total cost. I thought this way, too... a long time ago.
Some years back, I printed a calendar for a dance group, in which...
I had HP printers from 1995 to about 2003, and now have nothing but Canon for daily work. For me, the difference in functionality and stress on my computers was dramatically different. Any HP printer I had with card readers required the readers to be disabled, so as not to hang up any search...
I'm not sure how they market JVC disks in the brick and mortar stores, or if Taiyo Yuden product has gotten into their retail packaged inventory stream... but the disks I buy are now marked JVC, then in smaller letters it says "Joint Venture of Taiyo Yuden Co. and Victor Co. of Japan." It's a...
Really??? I keep reading that, but I have a bunch of disks older than that and they are still readable. I've been burning since '98, and I pull some of those disks out every now and then, because I use multiple overlapping backups, through the years. I have some audio CDs in my truck that stay...
That's what I was thinking. Some of the Canon models may have printed CDs in Canada, but it doesn't look as if the new ones do, at this point. I'm not sure how it's working, but it seems as if the "print pixies" have been at work and cracked the code on the IP4700, as I mentioned. Maybe that's...
Hi Hat,
I went through some attempts to refill tanks a few years ago, with mixed results... one clogged print head and the ruining of some expensive photo paper later, I shop hard for the best prices on OEM inks, and try to use Sam's Club, when I can. Wish they sold Canon ink tanks a la carte...
Thanks msmart,
I was a little confused about the marketing I saw from Canon Canada... seems I would see disk printing weakly mentioned in some advertising, and it's left out in other spec listings. Not being sure, I didn't want to purchase a printer, and on arrival find it had no disk printing...
I am considering the purchase of a Canon printer from the UK, if I can get one or two... but I notice that the ink tanks for the new IP4820 printers are numbered differently between the UK and US. UK using CLI5xx numbering, and the US using CLI2xx numbering. Many products that are identical...
