After re-filling, make sure the refill hole is tightly sealed. If any air is getting in, this will also cause a possible pooling problem in the printhead, and posibly cross-contamination of colours.
A glue gun, or a screw ith a seal works best.
There are companies on eBay who sell New Lexmark and HP cartridges that are made in China that work. I have bought them for clients who wished to try them

Not sure about Dell models, but this much I do know. Dell cartridges are made by Lexmark, and most Lexmark models allow you to reset your ink levels by telling the printer that you have just installed a "new" cartridge. Check your driver under "cartridge maintenance" to find the level indicator...
There are no new models being made by Canon these days that use the identical BCI-3 and BCI-6 cartridges.
Depending on where you live, and how much you will be using your printer, you might waant to look at the ip3500, which is VERY inexpensive and uses 4 separate cartridges. However, in your...
I had posted this in case any of the retail refillers wanted to call the company and check things out. This is not for the typical home user, to be sure.
If anyone here DOES contact them, please post any extra info here....thanks.
Just received this e-mail. It contains information about a new lower cost Canon resetter. I don't know anything about this Canadian , Vancouver-based company, but here is the info if anyone wants to check it out...
Basically, it involves removing the printhead, which holds the 4 cartridges. You'll see the 4 chambers, and the 4 rounded screens. Then have to put it
under running water, and you will see colour running out of the bottom. After a minute or 2, flip it over and run the water over it, bottom...

You just described the problem. The people who have the fewest problems in general with their printers are the ones who use their printers on a regular basis...every day or so. Using a printer sporadically will lead to problems with printheads...ask any Epson owner!!!

Fotofreek...in most cases, you would be correct.. the problem would be a poorly feeding cart or partial clog. However, in this case, his printer was printing photos well on photo paper settings, which leads me to believe that while his printhead might shortly need flushing, he could improve his...
Not an uncommon problem. Sounds like the printer is laying down enough ink when using a photo paper setting, but does not put out enough ink on a plain paper setting.Others may have a better way of fixing this, but here is what I did.
Go into your printer folder from Control Panel. Right-click...
By accident found this download today. There are many useful tools on this site. I used this download to reset ink levels immediately after refilling his ip2200.
Worked well, so may be useful to others as well..and may work in other models using the PG-40 and CL-41 carts too...
Here is a comment from fixyourownprinter.com...hope this helps
"Fixing this error is much easier as it looks. Unplug the printer completely. Move the ink cartridge cradle gently to the left. Over to the right at it's usual resting place you will see a small pad about 1cm square. This pad and...
Not really enough info....Are you using Canon cartridges, refills or compatibles?
Have you removed the cyan and magenta cartridges to see if there is any cross-contamination? This does happen occasionally, especially with certain compatibles.
Is your default colour print setting set to "Auto"...
I have sold 6 of these in my store...customers are generally satisfied with this low-end, low-use printer, although a couple have had problems with compatibles.
Choose the better quality compatibles and you should be able to run the printer cheaply. Alternately, if you plan on printing a lot...
