Yes... It arrived last week. It is called Sleek Silicone lubricant.
I'm using it on one of my older ip3000s which was making a terrible racket. So far, it seems to be working well, and the printer is running smoothly and quietly. I'll post again after a few weeks or so when I give it more time.
I've seen that happen before. The clue is that it only happens in th plain paper mode. It seems to be either a problematic bci-3 black cartridge, or the bci-3 blk hole in the printhead needs a flush....
Personally, I would suggest getting your money back and purchasing a printer with larger, easily refillable cartridges. You will save a king's ransom (well, a SMALL king) by finding a Canon model that uses the PGI-5s and cli-8s..there still are some available. Rmember, it's NOT what the printer...
These are for the C62/CX3200 printers. if you are using Genuine Epson cartridges, then yes, they are easily refillable IF you have a chip resetter.
If you use generic cartridges, the chip resetter will not work, at least I'm not aware of any compatibles that can be reset. There are indentations...
Try here if lexmark won't send you a driver cd, or if no one here can send you a copy.

Yes..Best Buy Canada has the mx850 for $129.00 This an excellent printer for the price..;)grab one while you can. Printers that use the cli-8s and pgi-5 won't be around much longer. It's a great buy, especially with the low Canadian dollar!! There are probably even better deals in the USA.
Thanks to pharmacist and ghwellsjr for the information.....So the general conclusion is that the inks are indeed different, and MAY affect printheads. That still does not seem definitive to me. Has anyone here used genuine BCI-3s for a while INSTEAD of BCI-6s, and could they post their results...
Seems superfluous to me. I think I'd rather have a resetter than mess with expensive, iffy chips. What if you like to keep several cartridge sets on hand for large print jobs..we'd need a few of these sets that sell for $60.00 per set?
Anyone see benefits that I'm not seeing?
I've just been given 84 new, boxed Genuine Canon BCI-3 colour cartridges. While I use several printers with the bci-6 series, Neither I or any of my customers have any models using BCI-3s.
I am finding conflicting information as to whether it is possible to use Genuine BCI-3 colour cartridges...
Thanks for your suggestion..I'll try to find some in Canada. I remember a nposting about a year ago where someone was talking about a specific "pink" grease that was made for printers and came in a small tube.. Anyone know what was the name of that grease?
I need to lubricate my ip3000 printers, one of which have begun to make squeaking sounds while printing. Does anyone know the correct grease to use for this, where to buy it, and the right way to go about doing it?
Thanks
You are welcome..remember..Do not overfill!! And, make sure you use Pigmented ink in the large BCI-3 blk, NOT the dye inks that are in the smaller, bci-6 colour cartridges...
The pigmented ink is more a permanent, as well as having higher viscosity, and it is what the BCI-3 was designed to use...
Remember, borderless printing will shorten the life of your printer, or, at least, you will get the dreaded "waste" error message sooner, before you will have to take action.
For 5x5 prints, you can use 5x7 paper, then trim the print. You can print 3 pics on an 8.5 x 11, then trim. Or...you...
