Alternating green to yellow 4 times but I finally got it to solid green.
It appears to me that the pads are soaking up the windex but it also seems that there is still black ink pooled off of the pads. I suppose it still could be the leftover ink I wasn't able to get with a Kleenex and paper...
Ok I used a syringe to squirt Windex 3 different times on the pads (and purged) and the long narrow pad always had black ink on it but the square pad was clean. What does this mean?
I may have a bigger problem now though because after the last time doing this procedure my printer is giving me 4...
I have a Canon ip4300 I bought new on eBay 2-3 years ago to replace my ip4000. I refill my cartridges using the German Refill method with Precision Ink. Here's the deal I've been having a problem periodically with the Black PGI-5BK where it is pooling under the printhead just black no other...
Thanks for all the responses and explaining things in detail I wasn't sure when to refill the carts.
I wasn't aware of the optical sensing system I will continue to use the cartridges until they read empty like I've always done with new Canon retail cartridges and then refill/reset chip.
With help from this forum I was able to refill my Canon ip4300 CLI-8/PGI-5 cartridges using the German Refill Method with IS ink... I'm using OEM Canon carts I have 3 of each color as backups.
My question is this, when refilling the cartridges most refill it from anywhere from 75%-85% or...
Thanks for the help guys I bought my mother a NEW Canon ip4500 on eBay I'm sure she will like it and appreciate not dealing with the smaller cartridges.
There seems to be a lot of Canon OEM PGI-5/ CLI-8 (5 Color) Value Pack's on eBay for a really good price here's one...
My mother's Canon ip4000 finally gave out after many years of printing lots of pictures so now she needs a new printer. It seems her choices are to buy a new Canon ip4920 which uses the PGI-225/CLI-226 cartridges or new Canon ip4500 on ebay (although a bit expensive) which uses the PGI-5/CLI-8...
The only reason I decided to aim for 75% full was because of Martin's tutorial on his OctoInkjet website but I actually ended up filling the cartridges closer to 80-85% (in the future I may try pushing it to 90-95%).
Much appreciated wasn't too bad I think it will go much faster the next time!
I used SquEasyFill bottles and it was pretty easy the only issue I had was after filling the CLI-8 Black cartridge reservoir to 75% and then going back to top it off to the same amount I couldn't tell how full it was...
I started filling my carts via German method but I have some questions. After filling and then letting the sponge soak up the ink I'm finding the sponge only gets saturated about halfway no matter how I have the cartridge setting is this normal
Also is it normal to have some bubbles left in the...
My mistake was making the hole on the > instead of on the PP I know dumb!
What I mean is after punching a hole in the wrong spot (>) I then turned around and punched a second hole in the correct location (PP) on the same cartridge. The end result is I have 2 syringe holes in the cartridge so I...
Well I feel so dumb while I made the hole as close to the bottom as possible I also made it as close as I could to the edge instead of centering the hole, I was trying to avoid the outlet filter (or sponge or whatever it's called). Apparently there must be a gap between the outlet filter and...
I think it must just be dried out I plan to go ahead and try as it but first I need to order some orange clips since I plan to fill three of each color and store
In the meantime I experimented with making a hole and inserting the needle going by instructions in Martin's pdf: "Using an awl, push...
I'm terrible at taking pictures but this is the best I can do
I haven't tried washing it out but it looks like it's dried out to me I'll just go ahead and fill one with ink and see what happens.
ghwellsjr I haven't got around yet at trying my hand at refilling using the German method but I have a couple of questions:
1. I'm going to to refill 2 or 3 cartridges at a time of each color so that means they will be stored so I assume I will need to tape off the hole I just made for...
Ghwellsir I never really considered the German method because I thought it looked hard and more chances for a screw up but I'm willing to give it a go. I bought 30 PGI-5/CLI-8 Canon virgin empty cartridges on eBay but didn't think I would try refilling all of them just would have some on hand...
To get started trying my luck at refilling I want to order a small amount of ink so I'm looking at either Precision Colors http://stores.ebay.com/PrecisionColors/Canon-5-Cartridge-Printers-/_i.html?_fsub=12749085&_sid=98545621&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 or Hobbicolors...
Seriously ghwellsjr was bidding on it my wife was doing the bidding while I was watching tv she said there were a couple bidding against her.
I paid $201.50 plus shipping which was maybe too much but I needed a new printer really bad and I didn't want a newer model with smaller cartridges.
