Hi all,
a friend of mine gave me his HP C4480, I am not new to refill as I have been doing this for years with my Canon i865, so I just need a tip on the methodology and a reliable ink supplier.
Thank you
Alex
Hi,
so basically I can use the method I described in my post #1 which I will make more detailed here below:
1) Put the orange plastic cap on the outlet.
2) Drill a hole on the top of the cart, under the label there should be a little indentation
3) Fill with 6cc the black and 3cc the other...
Hi,
thanks for the tips.
Let me see if I have well understood:
1) Seal the outlet with the orange cap
2) I have to drill a hole on top to fill in the 3/4 right? This hole will be sealed with a rubber cap ( I have specific ones that I use for my Canon carts).
3) Fill 1/4 through the vent and...
Hi folks,
a friend of mine bought the 6500A and once he saw the price of the Black cart he came to me and asked for advise :gig
I still have my Canon i865, after 7 years of refills it works better than ever :thumbsup
I had a look around and came to the conclusion that the 920 carts can be...
I am sure you are right, however, I never had a single problem with the blanks I got from ColorBAT, really really good and very easy to refill, on the spot in a few minutes.
Before going on eBay to buy used OEM, I will prioritize the ColorBAT carts, I hope to find a solution.
Thanks for your...
Hi all,
I moved very recently to Canada and I am looking for a new supplier for my empty carts.
I used to buy the ones for my i865 at Colorbat, excellent carts indeed but unfortunately he is no longer reliable in terms of "in stock" items.
Now I also have a second printer, a MX870 and that's...
Hi all,
just to confirm that I tried compressed air in the magenta screen, nothing changed at all, I always get the same nozzle check pattern.
I'm afraid I have to throw my print head in the bin :(
Do you know any cheaper place to buy a new print head?
Thanks guys for your suggestions, even...
I will follow your suggestion, but honestly, I am not optimistic, I tried both windex and ammonia during the last two days, none worked.
No, the old print heads are gone, it happened years ago, I do not move every year!
I should have bought a stock some years ago when they were much...
Yes, it is as you mentioned, I have taken another shot but with artificial lighting is not better, however, I have uploaded on another site where I am allowed the full size, so it is much better for you to see.
I tried the ammonia in the meantime, no change.
Thanks for your help,
Alex
Hi ghwellsjr,
the printhead an the carts were in separate zip bags, both were wrapped in a clean paper towel and both had a wet towel in it to prevent to dry.
I let the printhead dry from "humidity" before placing it back in the printer.
Last night I tried the windex in the magenta but no...
Hi all,
well, I just wanted report back my experience following the method suggested by ghwellsjr.
Indeed the print-head which I put in the zip lock bag got here still wet as it left, I was excited when re-assembling the whole thing, did the nozzle test and every color was perfect except the...
Thanks for mentioning your "negative" experience, I will keep this in mind.
Obviously, this make things more difficult for me as I am not sure what to do now, in theory, the procedure suggested by ghwellsjr is the one that guarantees to "consume" the outstanding ink in the printhead before...
Hi,
your advice is very wise, thank you!
Everything is clear regarding the printhead, but I have a question for the carts:
I refill and use the following carts (I guess you know them already): http://www.colorbat.com/proddetail.php?prod=BCI6
I have my original orange caps, the refill hole is...
Hi folks,
I continue my 4 years' old post , different destination (Canada :D), same question but... the time my printer will stay out of activity will be at least 3 months.
Is the solution you provided in 2006 still the best option?
Many thanks,
Alex
Ok I can live with that, basically I just want to use the ink of my MP500 until I finish it, then I will use the specific ink for the MX 870.
Also, I do not print photos with the MX 870, it is purely for work, not looking for particular performance on colors then. ;)
Thanks folks,
Alex
Hi there!
what do you mean by "the colors will be off, accept for black"?
Yes, I use refill ink and thinking to go for the Durchstich method to refill them.
