I bought also a couple of used CLI-8 and PGI-5 sets from eBay. I make a reset first and refilled them
afterwards.
Reason for me, if the chips are damagged I simply don't refill those cartridges.

Ordered my last 5C-LP large refill ink pack on 26-June, received it on 1-July over here in The Netherlands.
With the current rate of exchange USD <-> EURO, I'll never find any refill ink which is so cheap and with such quality over here in Europe, if...

You brought me a good idea with those screws because I broke one of that plastic pins.

I do have a IP4500 and using the redsetter for a month now and I can assure you that the redsetter is working fine with that printer.
In fact, the redsetter has nothing to do with these printer models, it's only affecting the chips on the CLI-8 and PGI-5 cartridges.

I've got the same redsetter, bought in the netherlands, but that doesn't matter, the devices ar all the same.
Opened the device before resetting (very easy to do, just whip up the bottom), same battery as Jaap, Mitsubishi CR2032e, read the voltage = 3.31 volts

For Dutch forummembers, the Canon RedSetter is available in The Netherlands now also.
