Thanks to Joe (jtoolman) and The Hat I indeed 100% revived my PRO-1.
Your particular problem is that the ink has very likely dried up in the silicon tubes !
As your friend had removed the cartridges...
These tubes run from the cartridges to the printhead.
So now what to do ? Dismantle the...
During the driver installation my Epson printer was not detected on the network (in Windows 10 x64).
What one needs to do is:
- Install EpsonNet Config (I found it in the Download section of my printer page).
- Go to Configuration after selecting your printer (that is oddly detected here, but...
Hello,
Did anyone try ultra wide gamut inks from American Inkjet Systems ?
http://www.americaninkjetsystems2.com/
They produce inks for Epson printers, and some other wide format printers.
I plan to refill the Epson 4900.
I wonder if I can get very accurate colors with these inks, if I make...
Well I managed to unclog it 100% !
I saw that doing nozzle checks every couple days, without doing anything else, showed gradual improvement.
So I soaked a paper towel with the pharmacist solution, and put it under the print head for hours (without removing the print head from the printer)...
@mikling This is the new inkset I believe, I bought it this summer from you.
Here is a gamut comparison of your inks VS OEM.
If I did print just photographs on glossy papers I guess that I'd use PrecisionColors inks for the price;
but there is a bigger difference on plain paper (I use...
After leaving the print head overnight in Pharmacist's solution, there was no improvement.
The mistake that I made, is that I should have had filled a SquEasyFill with Pharmacist's solution and injected it through the ink entry holes.
Shaked and removed the liquids, and repeat till there's no...
Hi, do you need the chips ? I just found them !
I can send them to you as a gift if you need them :)
Thank you Jose, I did see your videos; finally I will use OEM carts on my PRO-1, as I didn't get good results with PrecisionColors on my PRO-10... even with i1 Publish Pro 2...
Thank you very much to both !
You are the most prominent experts on printers :p
By the way, one must close where the paper comes in and out on the printer,
or the procedure is without effect.
Before removing the printhead I did run a nozzle check between each deep cleaning in the driver,
hope...
I bought these 3 years ago !
They are thicker than OEM ones, so it's a PITA to install them ! I gave up as I had trouble refilling the bag.
If I find them I'll send them to you, but don't have much hope !
According to this page in French; it can only normally be made by Canon technicians,
as the head/ink tubes system is under pressure:

Alright, but how to do it oneself ?
Hello,
I didn't use my PRO-1 for 3 years, and now some colors are clogged, the worst being PBK.
I tried to put some wet toilet paper soaked in the "pharmacist" solution (isopropyl alcohol 20%, ammonia 2%, distilled water), and position the printhead on top many hours, but it is still clogged...
I bought my inks 2 years ago for my MG7150 (same inks I think for the MG7550) directly from Aomya in China,
the dye inks were 3.80 USD per liter, and the pigment inks were 17.80 USD per liter !
They work perfectly (I use a i1 Pro).
I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION !
I tried endless combinations but the problem actually came from i1Profiler, when you print the ColorChecker proof !
When you print the test charts you have to unactivate of course color management,
and I thought that at the end of profiling, when you print the...
@Ink stained Fingers Great idea about GamutVision thanks, that's interesting software.
@The Hat Thank you very much, I won't go see a shrink then !
You are right on, yes ultimately I will use a profile made with glossy paper, and I will adjust the paper media / ink intensity settings.
But I do...
Truth to be told, I didn't have my prints made with Chinese inks exposed to light a long time,
anyway that's not the issue there, I use OEM inks with the PRO-1, PRO-10S and PRO-100S.
Well what is baffling me, is that I successfully manage to make great profiles for dye based printers, and for...
Thanks to all for your answers,
Yes, it's what I will do if I can't find a solution, but that really doesn't sound logical, I'd like to understand the flaw in the process !
And as "Ink stained Fingers" points out, "that may be a visual jugdement, the colors may be balanced, but whether they are...
Hi all,
As strange as it sounds, while I can calibrate easily dye based printers,
it's a total disaster with pigment based ones !
This happens with PLAIN PAPER, I don't have this issue on glossy paper.
And yes, I absolutely need to print on plain, I print on 100g plain paper.
I did contact...
Hi all !
I own a Canon Pixma PRO-1 but refilling it with non OEM inks is a true nightmare.
So I want to buy a printer that is more refilling friendly.
I consider buying my inks from Precision Colors, or please advise me an alternative.
I hesitate between dye and pigment inks (meaning PRO-100...
