Off topic, the Maxify pumps the waste ink up to the top of a kind of tower in the back at right to drop it down again on pieces of felt. Probably to enhance the absorption capacity of the pads in the bottom.
Very easy to connect an external tube with minimal disassembly.
The WIC of my first...
I still use a PRO-9500II for A3(+) office prints and posters, photos on matte/fine art paper (and old glossy paper stock where the PRO-10 causes ink pooling).
The PRO-10 is for glossy and luster photos only.
Glad to hear you changed your mind about the PRO-10, most people who were tempted by the PRO-1 should have bought a PRO-10 - I think even Canon would agree ;).
I could be wrong about the Maxify, will open it again, and when I find the battery I will try to replace it.
I believe you, but what is true for the PRO-1 doesn't necessary apply to the PRO-10.
Since there are no PRO-9500's (we thought they would live forever) anymore, the PRO-10 is the best we have now to refill.
Crying wolf on every reported error because it happens to have a battery (as the PRO-1...
After rereading this thread some thoughts:
- TS mentioned he used older service tools, this blocks access forever, so later unsuccesful attempts (after disconnecting the battery) are not a proof the printer is dead
- the printer was flooded with ink so could have other damage
- an EEPROM is...
As @The Hat experienced, older generation Canon dye printers must have been sturdy.
But I entered the scene too late (with the 525/526 carts) and had a lot of frustration.
Maybe cause of the German (Durchstich) refill method.
Also the refill inks faded while you were looking at them (but they...
I am happy with the dripping method, and indeed the weight (32,5g without clip) is the most important.
Although resetted chips show empty before reaching 20g, so there is leeway.
When there is too much air you won't be able to reach it, press the sides slightly - with the outlet upwards - until...
I've got the 4100 error yesterday on the PRO-10 when launching a bottom plate cleaning.
No setup carts in the printer (although the other set has 2 of them and never caused this).
Went away after restarting the printer.
I made over 100 prints in 2 days and left the printer powered on overnight...
Until now the error didn't appear again (but I left the printer on - against my principles ;) ).
I was able to finish my annual calendars (8x12 A4) plus some A3 prints.
While cleaning the plate I got the 4100 error (non genuine carts) normally linked to the Creative Parks app (I didn't run)...
Agree about CO.
I still have 150-200ml stock of Precision Colors SE (IMO almost same as OEM even when Jose Rodriguez disagrees strange enough on this one ;)) but when empty I will buy an OEM PRO-1000 cart too.
As far as an RGB jpg can show, the test prints all look OK.
I wonder why you started with matte paper, the gamut is much lower.
IMO luster paper will reduce the difference between dye and pigment inks at the maximum (diminishing the reflections of dye on glossy and the eventual gloss differences...
I hope I can fix it this way, now that even you can't dismantle the printer ;)
As long as it works I won't touch anything.
As I understand it is a light source with a sensor, not a mechanical switch ?
@Artur5 , there were times my cyan nozzles were as bad as yours.
I used ink from an expired 701C cart for a while and it enhanced.
Since GI-56 is available I use this, obviously it is better.
I observed it once last year, but it came back.
Obviously there is no paper - or piece of - left in the printer.
The Canon suggestions (open the rear paper feed) didn't solve anything.
Actually it goes away after shutting down the printer one or two times.
I already aspired the innards, and...
