Hi
Ya i fed the ribbon out the back.
I shove a piece of paper into the printers "door_closed" detector -- so that it thinks the door is closed.
Ya i've been using this CISS system for 6 months. It's always printed good. It's just that, about every 10-20 prints, the printer reports that, for...
Update: ahh..

Well I managed to get about 6 prints out, and then the problem came back.
I printed a demo with obama and jessica rabbit

Hi, thanks for the message.
Update: the instruction manual said to turn it off for 6 hours and try again. I unplugged it overnight and it started working again this morning.
Yesterday, Nozzle check shows full ink. The test pattern output seemed to always behave randomly. e.g. sometimes the...
I have CIS ink running through my Artisan 837
Thinks were working fine for the last 3 months. Have printed about 1000 glossy documents.
Suddenly today I started getting bad "banding" on my prints.
Have ran the "cleaner" from software 10 times.
It's not improving things.
Please help ;(...

So now that i've been playing with my Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II things have been pretty good.
I keep the heavy folex paper constantly under 50 pounds of weight. And I never put in less than 10 pieces at a time. By doing this, I seem to have eliminated the paper errors.
The question now is...
Update 3
Ok now that I'm actually able to print, I did about 40 photos and, of course, am now completely out of black ink. (This was a brand new cartridge just purchased today.)
:(
Which brings me to the first point of coming to this forum.
To find a CIS solution!!!
So that's the next thing...
Update
ok so i've come to the conclusion that all these problems stem from the size, weight, and width of the http://www.folex.com/htm/580/en/CANVAS-JET-ST.htm?Article=47425&Structure=16822 paper.
This website had some interesting tips on "paper with scratches"...
Update
First two prints of the "Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II" came out great.
Print number 3 jammed and the printer started doing massive gear grinding and sounded pretty much like a velociraptor attack from Jurrasic Park.
This was with the...
So it turns out I was able to get hold of a "Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II"
Now the big question is, will I be succesful in applying CIS to this?
Here are some resources i've been digging up:
