    printer is "seeing double"

Here's a couple of photos... the original print is of a portion of a building, it's about an 8x10. There's also a closeup of the tip of the foliage top, including the edge of a dime for scale. You can see the doubling quite clearly.

Is there an archive, where I could find my early posts? If so, how can I get to it? I did some searching but no luck. Thank you!

    printer is "seeing double"

I'm printing with an Epson 1400, and recently I am getting slightly soft, as in fuzzy, prints. I thought I wasn't focusing properly, or that something was wrong with my lens. I did three prints of the same subject using three different cameras, and they were all what I would call soft. I...

black nozzle check often totally blank

Thanks for your contribution, J. Emmett. By the way, I just noticed an important error in my recent post. It should read In my post I left out the word "not" and it is now corrected! Sorry for any confusion! Anyway, I can understand where you might see some similarity.

black nozzle check often totally blank

Hello J. Emmett, I'm not sure you were asking me or the thread in general. However, my answer is that, no, I don't know of such a way. Sorry!

black nozzle check often totally blank

@The Hat and @apetitphoto : I have to confess I was skeptical about shaking the printer, it's too unwieldy (a 1400) to even try it. But then I thought heck, why not give it a try. OK, so it's been several days, time enough for the black cart to get uncooperative. But I grabbed the printer, one...

black nozzle check often totally blank

Good thoughts, @The Hat , and yes the black in the 1400 inkset, Eb6, is indeed a pigment ink. However the black in the 1430's inkset is a dye ink. Shaking the black cart before a printing session is a good idea, the only problem is that I need to remove the cart to do so. Re-seating that cart...

Oops, sorry! At any rate, mine were all checked.

black nozzle check often totally blank

More often than any other issue, it seems there's something peculiar about the black cart. In my 1400 I'm using the Eb6 inkset, the black position being 100% Eboni ink and the other five containing dilutions from 30% down to about 2%. In my 1430 I'm set up for color prints, using Inkjet Mall's...

why is this forum so active? no flaming, please!

Thanks, @The Hat. I looked at my menu for your first attachment, 6205, and all boxes were checked. As for attachment 6206, all my boxes were checked here as well... but your boxes were unchecked. Maybe it's just a glitch somewhere in this particular thread. Strange...

Well, my test failed ... I didn't get that post in my Inbox. :( And I did have the notify option checked.

Thanks, @The Hat but the settings are the same as I've always had them. I'll watch to see if this post I'm creating now sends me a notification.

Thanks, everyone, very helpful. But... something's gone awry. I'm not getting e-mail notifications when someone posts a reply. I've never had trouble before..

why is this forum so active? no flaming, please!

I've been using Epson printers for years but now and then I am envious of Canon users who seem to have fewer clogs in their printers. Please, I do not mean to start a flame war. But I note that this forum has over four times the messages than the Epson forum. Is that because there are simply...

    "smeared" nozzle check

First, to follow up on my most recent post. This morning I did perform another underhead cleaning and sure enough, got the same smeared pattern for the black position. Yesterday afternoon I was getting a perfect pattern. So this is the third time I've had that smear pattern, each time only 24...

    "smeared" nozzle check

I did a nozzle check and now there's virtually nothing in the black position nozzle pattern. Thanks for the tip, but I'm using IJM's capsules and keys, you're probably familiar with that. It's not feasible, as far as I can tell, to remove the ink from a capsule, and even I did, what ink would I...

    "smeared" nozzle check

Now that I look at the post by @mikling again, I suspect my response shows that I seriously misunderstood what is meant by "external edge". I bet I'm way off. Can I get some help on that? And this morning, I'm sorry to say, only 24 hours after I had achieved a good nozzle check, the smearing...
