Very sorry, stratman, and others as well. I'm brand new to Canon printers. I looked for Canon tech support on their website but couldn't find the correct place to go. I confess to taking the easy way out, in this case it was this website, Printer Knowledge. I've been here before, regarding...
Well, my joy is heart-lived. I noticed that the noise is practically non-existent when printing a matte paper and approaching its high level of noise when printing gloss. I usually use matt paper so this not a big problem for me, but would like the printer to be easier to live with all around.
Just got a Canon iP8720 last Saturday and the installation went rather smoothly. I got it for doing b/w prints, and the first print was beautiful. However the printer puts out a very loud and sharp noise. It's a single shot, almost like a .22 rifle. Loud, I'm telling you, loud! Not only loud but...
Thanks, stratman. First, I'm impressed you can pull out a post of mine from Jan 2017!
By the way, what time zone are you in... I'm in the Mountain Zone, Billings to be exact.
I don't know why the AO alphanumeric changes. Actually I have that question myself. I'm afraid I'm in water too deep...
Maybe adding a photo will make the issue clearer. Note the difference in the numbering. I'd like to know what the numbers mean... do the different numbers indicate a darker scan? I had sent my 1430 to my tech guy. He told me he made a darker scan. My earlier scan is rather weak, I admit, and I...
What do the numbers below (sometimes above) nozzle check on my Epson 1430 mean?
Mine are:
AO25G2 QP100A73
After a trip to my tech guy for a cleaning, the nozzle check was darker, and the number now is:
AO051C QP100A73
I did a pretty thorough search here, got four pages of hits but I...
Well, folks, good news. I got it working. I ran a simple sequence over and over, improving a little bit at a time.
the sequence:
load paper
run paper
it sails through without printing
LED turns on (the one for stopping a print job)
reload paper
press the LED, it lights up
run paper, it goes...
Am using IJM carts loaded with various mixtures of Carbon ink. Everything was running along smoothly until I got to carts 5 and 6 position, ie Magenta and Cyan, left to right. At this point I must have gotten careless - I loaded these carts in reverse order, ie Cyan and Magenta, left to right...
I have a couple of 1430's to keep happy and lately I've been getting their needed supplies at octoinkjet.co.uk They've even got a section highlighting supplies mentioning Paul Roark! Their director is Martin (I can't think of his last name just now) and he is highly conscientious and deserving...
Well, my luck ran out. The ink in the Yellow position cart is mis-behaving and I'm getting 2 or 3 dashes at the same level again. The ink in that position is actually a mixture of Blue and Cyan taken from Canon originals, so I guess that would be considered an original ink. It's being used a...
I'm not ignoring you guys! Been doing some trial and error runs. Turns out that a small square lightly soaked with alcohol did the trick. Didn't have any propylene glycol on immediate hand.
BTW I'm pretty sure my ink, although third party, is pigment not dye.
Thanks to both of you!
I'm using an Epson 1430, it has six cartridges. In my case, a few yellow position dashes are at the same level in the nozzle check. Doesn't seem to affect results, but I still would like to have the dashes behave themselves. BTW, am not using color carts but do use the carbon 6 cartridges...
I have a 1430 which I got a few months ago, very low mileage. Perfect nozzle checks.
A small blot is starting to appear, see photo. I make two notecards on a sheet of 8.5x11 paper, the photo shows half that size for one notecard. The paper moves from left to right, the left edge being the last...
I got this ink from InkJetCarts.us but of course now that they're closed I can't contact them. I'm setting up my carts to use Paul Roark's Carbon 6 inkset. I bought these about April of 2020 so they should still be usable. I've opened and used the carbon ink bottle and it printed fine. Four...
This looks like a good place to mention a relevant thread over in the Epson folder. Here's the title:
where to buy print head for Epson 1430
I realize this is a Canon thread but maybe someone here could recommend a good supplier. Canon or Epson, a quality print head supplier might have both...
When I do an Internet search for such a print head I get all kinds of hits. How's a body to choose? I thought maybe those who frequent this website would have some good experiences to help me find a reliable and trusting dealer.
I will not be installing it, we (partner and I) will hand the...
