The picturemate came with some OEM cartridges so I didn't refill it yet.
I removed the chip from a dried out cart and resetting it was easy with a generation 2 resetter (for Epson T0611).
In the future they will be refilled!
Clear non OEM cartridges of this type are now offered on internet. Is the sponge a problem? Maybe the sponge can be replaced by one from an OEM cartridge.
Also available now: empty refillable cartridges:

True, but this time the package says: Ink Swiss made. That was not on other occasions with Lidl carts. It can only mean that a Swiss manufacturer had a surplus on their shelves, maybe caused by the high rate of the Swiss frank, and decided to make a deal with Lidl. Let's just take advantage of...
The OCP inks Ive used are:
BKP202, photo black K3
BKP201, light black K3
BKP200, light gray K3
Im satisfied with these inks, there is no clogging and it is real good pigment ink.
The difference with BKP114 is the gloss, which is very high on BKP202. The lower gloss BKP114 gives a deeper black...
I think the ink is from 3T-Supplies, which is usually sold under the brand name 'Peach'. Not a bad product. The peach carts cost a bit more, but Lidl can offer it for a sharper price.
The odd shape of the Lidl carts for Epson is the same as the Peach ones.
I've tried the Lidl carts for Epson...
Ive made B/W photos with black and grey inks only. An Epson durabrite printer was used. I bought light black and light grey K3 inks from OCP. The light grey was put in the yellow cartridge and the light black in the magenta and cyan carts.
The outcome was satisfying but a bit warm.
For B/W...
The decribed method works for ink/paper combinations which have too much colour shade, too greenish, too red etc. By changing the sliders you can get a result comparable with prints from a processing lab.
For exactly the same colours as with OEM ink you need to have a ICC profile that is made...
Its easy to change the color management in the printer driver. Give your newly bought ink another change.
Here is how to change the colors in the printer driver:
When you print a photo, open the printing preferences window.
Go to Main, tick Manual and click Set.
Then the Manual Color...
Today I bought some cartridges at Lidl. On the box it says: ink Swiss made. The carts are manufactured in Chechnya.
The 364XL carts were sold out immediately, I couldn't get hold of a single one. Maybe I triggered that with my announcement on this forum.
As you can see, the chip sits nicely...
HP printers are popular in The Netherlands, thats why Lidl includes a set of HP carts in their offer.
I checked some prices, and the compatible 364XL carts are costly here too. The newer the printer, the higher the prices of compatible carts. The compatibles of the Canon 550 is also expensive...
The cartridges come with chip. Lidl sells typical consumer products. The normal consumer doesn't know about cartridges with or without chip. He simply expects to have a working printer after the cartridge exchange. So the cartridges must be ready to use. The 'normalverbraucher' doesn't have a...
Thanks, Peter BJ, that is useful information. I think the weights you have measured are right, my kitchen balance isn't that precise.
Now I only have to decide whether to choose a resetter or a set of ARC chips.
decisions, decisions... :D
So I bought the Canon MG6250 instead of the MG6350. Thank you The Hat for your advise on that. :thumbsup
This model uses 525/526 cartridges. But I've heard that the 520/521 series also fits in this machine. Does the printer simply accept the 520/521 chips or do I have to use the 525/526 chips...
Now it's time for the French to celebrate the 14th :clap
This is your chance to kiss your neighbors wife :hugs
Next festivity day: Belgium. They even have got three of those days, de feestbeesten :pop
Agree, Martin.
And sometimes we need empty carts to fill with extraordinary fluids, that shouldn't be mixed with ink remains in an OEM cart. It can be edible ink, cleaning fluid or grey ink (for B&W photos).
A lot of work for getting these carts normal working. You are the best, Hat.
I've been thinking of buying a Canon MG6350, which uses these carts. There is a 40 cashback by Canon for this printer at the moment. But now it appears that the 551 carts are terrible!
Maybe I'd better choose the older...
Look, no sponge!
Actually this one replaces an Epson T007, and there is a sponge in the OEM cart.
Don't know how they do it, but I've got two of these and they work fine.
Ive bought many empty refillable cartridges and I want to share the experiences.
Because it is almost impossible to refill the latest generation OEM cartridges I switched to refillables. These carts can be filled and refilled over and over again. Filling is easy: just remove a plug and insert...
