Somebody who wants to start refilling and have thrown away their OEM cartridges, or didn't want to buy new OEM XL cartridges for three to five times the cost of compatibles?
@websnail can probably answer that, but I think only Canon bothers making low-capacity cartridges. All the compatibles I've seen (on eBay) have the full internal volume available, with some variation in sponge size.
( AFAIK XL and normal OEM cartridges are the same size, but the "normal" ones...
So if I understand @milkling correctly, I should be safe if I refill all the cartridges whenever one indicates low or empty. Only that cartridge will reset, the other cartridges will always indicate less ink than they actually have, so no risk of running empty, little risk of draining the...
I unplugged my printer and turned it back on again, and the single refillable (together with single-use non-OEMs) didn't reset to full, which means it's what you call the "newer" type.. So my experience is that the "newer" type can indeed be mixed with others. Haven't tested it with OEM carts.
How does a Canon printer know the ink level?
I'd guess something like this: The printer knows exactly how many droplets it has squirted out, and how much ink is supposed to be in a new cartridge (or the chip tells it). So it keeps track of ink use, and calculates remaining ink from that. The...
Well, I tried filling the cartridges and replacing only the cyan. The refillable cartrige seems to work just fine next to the Peach cartridges.(No OEM carts in the printer.)
I'm a bit grumpy that the printer claimed the Peach cyan was empty, though. The reservoir is a quarter full.
The ARC cartridges say to refill when the printer says they're empty, because that's the only time they'll reset. But Precision Colors recommends refilling when the printer warns that the ink level is low, otherwise you'll get foam in the sponge and problems with ink flow...
I bought the cartridges here: http://www.blekkskriveren.no/epages/Blekkskriveren.sf/no_NO/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Blekkskriveren/Products/LNK550551
There are no manufacturer marks or serial numbers that I can see. There's a logo for Sensient on the included instructions. Sensient is the supplier of...
Hello,
My printer is a Canon Pixma MG6650, which takes PGI-550/CLI-551 cartridges. After the "setup" cartridges that came with the printer were emptied I used Peach compatibles, which worked fine, but I'd like to try refilling for even greater savings. So I ordered ink from Octoink, and...
