I ran the Setup Cartridges (273i) until the level was at about 30% on the BK (Pigment black) when it started to print poorly. At this stage all cartridges had the original OEM chips.
I then swapped out the OEM chips for the ARC's from PrecisionColors, and refilled everything.
Immediately after...
I have noted some interesting behavior!
First, I got the QE-888 Chip Resetter and the Engineer in me just had to try this on the 273i cartridges. I tried the BK (Pigment Black) and much to my surprise, it worked! I then tried it on the other four 273i cartridges and it did not work. I wanted to...
I am certain you are correct. The air in the cartridge was preventing me from filling it using the dribble method. I was able to fill it! It still had a great deal of air in it and only filled as a standard capacity cartridge. It also took a few cleaning cycles to get it to print clean.
I am...
Do any of the Chip Resetters work for the XP-600/800 printers?
It is my understanding that none of the resetters work on the setup or initial cartridges shipped with the printer? Also, an inherent problem is the chip must be reset before the printer sucks it dry and ECM's the chip.
Even with...
I am having some issues refilling the T273 BK cartridge.
It will not fill, at all, using the dribble method. It draws in a little ink (a few drops) but not much. Although the Epson chip indicated about 1/3 ink was remaining I think it actually sucked the cartridge dry.
So, to fill it, I...
Epson tells us to shake the pigment black before installing the cartridge. There is no way to keep the ink seperated like that. It all mixes together.
A problem may occur if the ink starts to dry out from infrequent use.

The ARC's you speak of I assume are from precisioncolors.com. They are all XL chips!
Ok, to summarize, if you refill the Pigment Black, it will only fill as a Standard capacity unless you mod per Miklings' instructions. The problem being the ARC and prism are out of sync.
Earlier in the...
For cleaning heads try using windex. See;

I have had the same issue with my R-200 and R300. You may need to remove the cartridges and use a syringe to suck ink through the sytem to remove air.
use a bottom fill adapter like this...
Not so crazy!
I used "No Drip Windex" to clean heads in my R200/300's.
I filled a syringe with windex and a piece of tubing on the lure-lock.
Remove the cartridge of blocked head and place the tube on the spike in the printer.
Squeeze!!!!
Works very well on the R200/300!
Of course, I am not...
That is not an issue for this printer, at least not yet!
I have installed an external waste bottle on most of my inkjet printers, but this is the first printer I have owned that actually has a tank.
I do believe Epson should have made it easier to get to, but I do not see that as a big issue...
Hi,
I currently have a R300 with a CISS of my own design and it has worked very well for over 5 years.
For me, I decided on a new printer mainly for the WIFI. I actually looked for a printer only, but for the price you can't beat the XP-600/700!
The Plus for me was the ease of refilling the...
Hi Everyone,
This is really a great discussion on the Epson cartridges. A true study in fluid dynamics!
I think I understand everything, well almost everything!
I was on the fence between Canon and Epson and now I think my next printer is the XP-600. I ordered it today!
As I understand it...
