You removed refilled and replaced the ball with no leaks so you have answered your own question. Surely the ball is a precision made to fit the case and the label is additional seal. I use this method sometimes and like it because there is no headroom problems like there can be with some of...
I do not know what the cartridge head clearance is like on the Pixma 5200 but those rubber blanking plugs might well foul. The clearance on my MP 620 is very tight have to use low profile plugs. Nearly all the refillables seem to use pretty chunky plugs
Will try that thanks The Hat. I see what you mean about the ink maze however whilst I can see what you mean in the photo its not actually in the cart some odd quirk of the picture . I have had faultless feeding from these IJT carts and they have been very economical on consumption. I was...
The warning on low magenta has continued and yesterday turned into ink empty. I replaced with a spare compatible and picture of the old cart is attached. As you can see plenty of ink left, and the output has been fine. Going to be wasteful on ink but cannot see there is much I can do. Looks...
Would confirm that Lidl UK (Hampshire) have the A4 Photo Paper in stock plus a pretty good selection of Ink cartridges. These included 520/521 series HP364 and assorted Brother/Epson @ £2.99 ea. or £5.00 for 2.
I purchased a pack of paper and a set of carts for my Canon MP620 to try.
Whilst following pharmacist endeavours with great interest, I was interested in his link to the coralgraph refillable carts. I note they also do them for canon 521 carts, has anybody tried them?.
I realise epson are more forgiving than canon when it comes to refillable carts.
I agree the Pro 9000 has a greenish cast particularly noticeable on the top right image the Pro 100 more neutral. ThrillaMozilla is correct the B/W step wedges are not evenly seen on the Pro 9000 much better on the Pro 100. The canyon shot looks more saturated on the Pro 100 shot.
I am...
My post 3 was not completely accurate. Whilst in the main I have used OEM/refilled I have also used compatible carts from 2 different suppliers and 1 OEM PGBK. In fact the cyan/magenta currently in the printer are IJT compatibles.
The printer seems OK printing in small batches, but put a...
Thanks PeterBj for your comments the printer seems OK as far as web pages are concerned. Will keep a close eye on things. Still getting the low ink warning (magenta) on every page printed but still plenty of ink in the cart.
The mystery to me is why I have had so much feeding problems. Only...
My printer is playing up rather oddly. First I get the low ink warning on Magenta, on inspection cart's tank is still 1/3 full and the red light is flashing. I replace it with a spare cart. Shortly afterwards copies look dreadful do a nozzle check (about 3 a week now) and there is no yellow...
Have you tried going into settings/device settings/LAN settings where a list of options like wireless LAN settings followed by wireless LAN list plus others on my MP620 and the last one reset LAN settings
I have had a similar problem with a MP620 and mostly now use a USB cable to which computer I am using. However 1 way I tried was to go to devices and printers select NEW DEVICE not printer the program should find your printer( it must be switched on ) If found it may be labelled MP990 WS ...
Mr Bigglesworth One cleaner I have used is the one from Lidl W5 I believe none of the UK ones have ammonia in. You need to ensure the electrical portion of the print head is completely dry before re-insertion. I put it on a warm radiator for several hours.
dic 1701 Good news you have achieved success. What about the red light? has it gone out. If not you may need later to either fit a new OEM/compatible cart or refill the original with good quality ink. This model is not difficult to refill.
A photo from the New Forest local to me followed a engine from the annual Netley Marsh Steam rally. The next one is Argyle in Scotland finally an old Castle in Pembrokeshire, West Wales of which there are several.
please post a nozzle check which will give a better idea of the problem. However I have the MP620 and also experienced flow problems with both cyan and magenta. As PeterBj says there have been instances of these 521 carts not working very well using the German method. Like him I turned to top...
I use both top fill and German. I have more carts drilled for German and originally found it quick clean and easy. However after several poor cart feeding issues I went back to top fill. So for me it would be 75% German 25% top fill. I note some users sealed the German hole and reverted back...
Thank you Grandad35 for your detailed post. I had previously downloaded some of Norman Korens articles together with test images from Colour Collective/Digital Dog etc.
These images have been printed out on 6x4 and A4 on various papers and I have written my comments on the back. A couple were...
When I right click and select print The Printerknowledge top half is normal the subject heading i.e. Colour Management is normal, The poster on the left hand side is normal but their text is solid black ink with the text just visible underneath. If you print using the dialogue method the...
