Color profiling beginner questions (colormunky etc)

I started to print on XP-960 with OCP ink and even profiled it with the i1pro. Alas, what happened is that the profiled results do look worse than the epson built in profile (glossy photo paper). It seems as if the i1pro profile results are somewhat darker and less detail in the darker areas...

    Your virtual U.S. shipping address

I hear that global tax evasion is popular in Ireland, especially if you deal in fresh fruits such as Apple's ;-) Back to shipping: I can easily see how sellers in the US are not that much interested in dealing with all the details of shipping to various european countries. And UPS or Fedex may...

    Pigment Ink for Epson XP-950

Haha, didn't see your last post when i wrote mine, mikling. So, if the matte black pigment ink in the XP series does not clog... Why would the color pigments potentially clog more easily ? I thought that those are even less likely to clog because they are 'encapsulated' ? if that is the right...

    Pigment Ink for Epson XP-950

But as i said, those sponges are also in fill-in cartriges for XP-800...XP-820 where black uses pigment, so there should already be good experience whether that black clogs or not. Mikling did a nice summary re. XP series when you want to refill here...

    Pigment Ink for Epson XP-950

There is no difference in the aftermarket fill-in cartridges for the black pigment or the dye colors. All have a sponge like in the aftermarket CLI-8/41 canon cartridges.

    Pigment Ink for Epson XP-950

Multiple printers with the same print head as the XP-960 have pigment ink in two of the six cartridge slots - XP-900 (europe), XP-830 (USA/Europe) for example. And there are third party inks for that black.

60,000 customs/border agents in the USA, 40,000 in Germany, 16,900 in France. Go figure.

Some considerations: Its important to understand the US inter-state taxation: Sellers have to pay sales taxes applicable to the state of the buyer when they have a presence in that state. Which is why reshippers like viabox have addresses in states with 0% sales tax. So the seller can be...

Opinions on Precision Colors newer EV6 dyes?

Just tested a set of ARC chipped refillable T33 cartridges with PC ink on a european XP-900 (A3 variant of XP-640). I have not found ARC chip for the T410 (US equivalent). Those arc chips give me the full 11ml XL ink before they reset. They also seem to be somewhat better constructed than the...

    R3000 print speed Super Slow

Nerdy Nitpicking: I visited Jim Beans distillery and tasted the products: The quality very nicely correlates with its angel share. The best whiskeys had 50% or even 70% angel share (if i remember correctly, need to find my photos of the demo cascets they had). In networking, the quality is...

    R3000 print speed Super Slow

Yes, ethernet cable directly from printer to router or printer to ethernet switch and ethernet switch to router. No brainer. Except for walls or other physical obstructions, never use WiFi ;-)) You can keep your notebook on WiFi, your router should perfectly connect between ethernet connected...

    Archival Prints

Ok, thanks hadn't remembered all the details of that post. It would still be interesting to know the text of section 4.6 of that standard so we would know whether the standard sucks (aka: low bar on light resistance) or whether just the products suck. I'd have a hard time betting what it is. If...

    Archival Prints

Get a read of ISO 12757-2. https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:std:iso:12757:-2:ed-1:v1:en I do not have an IOS account and do not want to spend the moneys - Section 4.8 specifies light resistance. No idea if the spec meets your archival expectations. I would hope it does. In germany pens / inks...

Did you try to reset original t16 cartridges with the external newsletter, or one time pre filled third party cartridges ?

    Epson XP series

How do you disable ink monitoring ? What does that even mean ? If possible, i would always go with a non-ARC solution, eg: reset cartridges with an external resetter. There seem to be such resetter for the T273 cartridges used in the workforce printers, and even one for the XP-820/XP810/...

Epson 'T27' (XP-820) cartridge efficient refill

To answer my own question, the seller told me that the reset only works when the printer indicates that the cartridge is empty. So this seems to be just an ARC chip where the button interrupts the power connection so that the printer is fooled into thinking the cartridge was replaced without...

New owner question on aftermarket inks and ARC refill cartridges

How is this not Microsofts responsibility ? I for once would still be running windows XP to keep hardware alive if Microsoft was not forcing me to upgrade. And Microsoft does not offer a "bug & security fixes only" support model to home users, instead they continue to stuff down new stuff to me...
