    Rescued Artisan 810

Every time i look at these service manuals or open up a printer, i wonder if you need at least an apprenticeship as a watchmaker/horologist first. I bet it wouldn't hurt.

    Rescued Artisan 810

Indeed. Have not yet tried to measure with WICreset how much waste ink changes through cleaning cycles. I did through on the XP- series last year and thats how i got away from them. Except the one XP-900 in a place where i have very low volume. Luckily WICreset also works on MacOS. Yes, have...

    Rescued Artisan 810

Getting used equipment for free or on the cheap is also a great way to learn and help make decisions: Last year i bought a perfect condition XP-620 via craigslist for $30 after the first XP-820 i bought new failed and had to be returned (just hassle, got my money back). I also managed to trash...

epson L1800 experience ( soundtrack and more)

Some setup experience: After i first had problems printing borderless with the setup i wanted, i had to set up a VM with VirtualBox and Windows XP because i otherwise do not have any windows where the printer is, just to test borderless with the windows driver. Which was frustrating. The driver...

epson L1800 experience ( soundtrack and more)

Printer makes a "click" when head moves right into cleaning-pad ? position, and another click somwhere 1/3 across. Reproduceable when moving the head manually. I couldn't quite figure out where it is from though. Nothing was sticking out. Maybe related to the Epson CISS. Likely normal ? I'll...

Epson expression xp860 using 277 carts good candidate for refillable

This seems to be the likely successor of the XP-960 also using red & grey instead of lC/lM. (use Chrome browser or the like to get it translated) http://www.epson.jp/products/colorio/ep10va/ http://www.epson.jp/products/colorio/ep10va/feature_1.htm XP-760 successor (A4)...

Epson p800 ejecting print when half finished..

The problem with WiFi is that there are many factors you can not influence and that can change over time: neighbors with APs, parallel clients, microwaves, any type of motor (dish/washer, dryer, heater, phones, ...) - you name it. Even 5 years ago or earlier, commercial WiFi solutions tried to...

Epson p800 ejecting print when half finished..

IMHO, wireless printing is in general more risky than wired. Speed can slow down for various reasons (microwave, other user streaming video,...). And i have seen Epsons softwre stack not recover from slowdown. Or time ot and loose prints. On ethernet you should be able to avoid these problems...

Epson expression xp860 using 277 carts good candidate for refillable

ISF: Right. I was hoping i could wait out Epsons EcoTank product evolution to get a 5 color versions of the ET-77x0 ink without having to mix it myself, but it seems as if Epsons new 5 color pitch is not CMYlClM but CMY+Red+Grey as seen in the XP-15000. Will be interesting to see tests of...

Epson expression xp860 using 277 carts good candidate for refillable

If you plan to print a lot of fotos with the XP-960 (which is what it was built for IMHO), be aware that you will quickly run through cartridges and waste ink pads. I'd guess its about 25 A3 borderless photos per set of inks, and effectively 50% of those cartridges ink will have ended up in the...

epson L1800 experience ( soundtrack and more)

I finally decided to buy a new Epson L1800 because it was selling for 500 Euro. After maybe 10 nozzle clean cycles it went from white printout for the nozzle check to perfect. What i wonder about now is the soundtrack the printer makes every time the print head passes. It makes some clicking...

    Epson L800

Is an L8x0 series printer still interesting ? I thought the new series of ecotank printers sold in western europe superceeds them. E.g.: ET-2600 sells oficially in UK for 150 UKP. Sure they all have scanners you may not need, but price wise its not clear to me that the older L series are any...

    Epson ET-7700 inks

If i remember (can't find thread now), your test of the original epson inks for Epson 800 series (T673) showed them to fade faster, right ? So let's say i would rather like to get an L1800 instead of the ET-7750, price, A3+. I could to use the new 106 series ink, but that is missing LC and LM...

The Glossy Photo Paper is back at Lidl...

The notion of puddles made me remember something i never managed to figure out: If the printer driver/vendor has multiple versions of glossy, such as glossy, more glossy and super glossy, would i expect that the driver tries to cram more and more ink into the paper, the more glossy it is ? As...

Netbit photo paper at Aldi DK

Haha. So that photo paper is the new communist banana. Sold all year round for west currency at intershops but only at random times and limited quantities in stores normal people could buy from. I always look at Kirklands PE paper pricing with disgust: $14 for 150 x lettter, $33 for 50 x A3...

    IP3000 cross contamination - cause?

martin0reg: Liked the hologram info a lot. kanonvater: good attempt to figure out guidance from few data points. martin0reg didn't bitch about his $85 brand new heads, so i guess they go strong and thats a save bet. If i was buying them i would just be paranoid that they would far survive the...
