During the past few months my Canon MP 610 has turned off if it has been idle for more than a few minutes. I am not talking about the automatic shutdown which happens when the printer has not been in use for a few minutes and automatically responds when a print job is sent to it. The printer...
Whilst trying to answer my own question about workshop manuals I came across this site which may be of help to someone disassembling a Canon printer for the first time.
http://www.druckerchannel.de/artikel.php?ID=1831&seite=1&t=panic_waste_ink_tank_full
I guess if you get this waste tank full...
Does anyone have any links to printer workshop manuals or has anyone posted anything on this site showing a disassembled printer(s) or tips regarding does/ do not when disassembling printers ?
I'm particularly interested in the Canon range esp IP 4500 & MP 610
I currently have a canon MP 610 which I am well pleased with but am on the outlook for a second printer but there does not seem to be many MP 610 around at the right price just now. I Have seen the IP 4500 advertised and whilst it is an older model of printer is it worth going for or should I...
I have noticed several reconditioned MP610 printers advertised by Canon outlets for around 90 with a 12 month warranty.
As these come with a set of Genuine Canon carts and new printer head then I figure you would be getting a printer with 12 months warranty for around 10.
This assumes, if you...
Switched printer on, lifted cover, lowered flap that is used to print disks for better access to cartridges (yes I know it's not necessary to do this) removed and refilled carts, lowered cover and............ lots of clumping and banging sounds from the printer ! You guessed, I forgot to return...
I thought that all button cell type batteries were Nicad or lithium that's why I asked the question.
I know the AA type batteries are non chargeable but having said that I do seem to remember a charger on the market that was supposed to be able to recharge these batteries.
Is it possible to recharge the battery in the Redsetter ?
I Know the battery does not cost much and I also know their are links on this site to more permanent power supplies for the redsetter but I have a spare 3volt transformer and wondered if anyone else has ever had a go at recharging this...
Ghwellsjr,
They are OEM cartridges.
Pebe makes a good point about the position of the hole. On the carts I have got there is a very small ridge on the back wall of the cart and I make the hole between this raised ridge and the bottom of the cart so I must be fairly close to the bottom of the...
Having tried out other systems the German method is the one I now stick too but despite having refilled carts a number of times I still come unstuck with the odd one.
The problem is that the needle has not gone through the existing hole between the centre chamber and there is no way to tell...
Thanks for your response.
As you say it would be foolish to purchase a new printer until a Redsetter was available.
The list of printers is a surprise as some of these models have been around for some time and others are fairly new, in short why did canon use one range of cartridges for some...
In a recent post I asked about the next model of canon printer I should purchase and it was mentioned a redsetter would soon be available for canon printers that take PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges. Only I don't know which model(s) take these cartridges as I use a MP610.
I print A4 size. Perhaps...
I Guess this question has been asked before in the forum but I can't quite find it.
I Have a chip Redsetter for the CLI-8 & PGI-cartridges used on the Canon MP 610 Printer. Am I correct in thinking that the resetter will reset these cartridges so they can be used in any printer that uses these...
Yes it's a CLI-8Y. I contacted the seller and he assures me it is the correct cartridge. I guess it would not fit or if it did it would either not light up or would not print but it does both of these.
I am not sure what the chip in the cartridge consists of, does it contain some program or...
Hi,
Recently purchased some non Canon chipped cartridges for my MP610.
A message came up with one cartridge to say "cartridge not recognized"
The cartridge fits and the light stays on !
It also prints OK.
I can confirm its a CLI 8Y The box it comes in lists a whole load of printers MP600 MP600R...
ian,
That idea seems interesting but if there was any problems with the seals I guess Ink would be all over the place.
Is not the simplest way to make a hole in the top of the chamber but as close as possible to the wall and inject the ink in with the cartridge standing on it's edge and finally...
I seem to have a fair problem with filling inkjet cartridges. Sometimes the needle hits the gap in the wall first time and then no problem but other times I have to insert the needle many times before hitting the gap... Am I causing damage to the sponge each time I reinsert the needle to find...
Canon photo paper is fairly expensive when compared with other makes. Is it worth the extra cost in using Canon paper ?
I Recall someone having major problems with a Canon printer with the black in prints coming out very poor to the point they assumed a problem with the printer.
On using Canon...
leo8088,
Thanks for your reply. I suspect this is the very problem that caused my printer head to fail (MP610). I Have followed several posts regarding the cleaning of printheads but fine lines still appear in my test printouts on the maintenance page.
I Have gone ahead and purchased a new...
