I'll start.
I still use a Canon MP730 (purchased new in 2003). Thanx to The Hat for providing two new print heads (I still have one spare)! It is used daily for at least a handful of primarily household printing tasks.
I have changed the print head once, changed/cleaned the "diapers"...
Actually, another common "fail to eject ink" cause for piezo print heads is air-binding in the ink chamber just behind the nozzle opening. Air ain't as nearly as incompressible as ink.
The "drain-line squeezer" is a peristaltic pump. Yes, the maximum vacuum generated is quite low, determined...
...or you can degas the ink before refilling by heating it slightly below the boiling point and cooling it before refilling (not recommended without testing, first).
Thanks for the honor!
This added image below was taken with a 6.5mm fish-eye lens on a DX (APC) sized camera, wide open (f3.5). It's performance is quite remarkable. This scene, taken in one shot (no stitching), covers about a 165+ degree horizontal field of view.
Just to add a little more...
Whew! Finally got the alarm "Ink Tank Nearly Full" alarm after many years.
Disassembled the printer (actually not too hard).
Found the purge unit submerged in black paste and wiped most of it off. Only about 1/2 the "diapers" absorbed anything!
Removed the old diapers, cleaned the base...
Can your printer print other files (images, word processing files, web pages, etc.) successfully?
Do other PDF files openned in Adobe Reader print successfully, or is it just one file that is problematic?
If so, more than likely, you are experiencing a software issue rather than a printer...
