Welcome, Dan.
I too use a PRO-100, acquired just a couple months ago.
Agreeing with @stratman about your photography:
Love that capture of the snowy owl on your landing page,
and it almost seems familiar to me.
Are you active over on the POTN forums, by any chance?
Great sleuthing, @PeterBJ !
Gives those of us here in the US a couple of possible new options for service parts. o_O
I notice that eParts.fr does ship worldwide.
@The Hat : Tasktron does not indicate lack of stock,
even when adding the item to cart.
It's a shame some suppliers only ship within...
We don't know if @russell is looking for the QY6-0080; it hasn't been specified.
I mentioned it, but only because that's the one I needed a while ago.
@russell 's requirement may be different.
Old thread, I know, but...
This program is what I use, too.
It's easy to use, very intuitive, allows you to make tons of adjustments to disc print,
image brightness/contrast, placement on disc, etc.
Easy to save label creations to use later, too, including with embedded images.
Works to create...
In my search for a QY6-0080 head, I found a common deceitful practise among sellers
claiming "new" or "OEM" and such:
They would frequently display the outer box -and- the foil wrapper enclosing the head.
While the outer box usually displayed the appropriate "Canon" logo, the inner foil wrapper...
Damn. :(
Couple of days to payday, and I would have grabbed it at that $59 final price.
I suppose I'll put aside a bit until the next round of rebates, grab it then.
I'll try to remember to check in with CanonPriceWatch for this deal.
True, but doing so preserves physical integrity.
It's also the only method for refilling I've seen which is described clearly and concisely,
with even a few cautions against blithely drilling into another part of the carts.
I'd rather follow tested-and-true known methods than pave my own road...
Speaking of OEM carts only here.
All are similar in size with the exception of PGBK. Does not apply to CLI-42.
42, 221 and 226 carts seem identical in size, but probably have a few minor
differences. All of them actually slot into both a PRO-100 and a MG5320,
but it's not advisable to do so...
I've a couple sets of standby carts ready to go.
One set, a CLI-42 complete set for a PRO-100.
The other, a set of PGI-225/CLI-226 for a MG2350.
Both sets are used, flushed & refilled.
I haven't been long at this, but they're holding up very well
in plastic food-storage containers, fully...
I see this is a fairly old thread now, but I'll chime in with my two cents...
Laser printers will produce very crisp text at all times if functionally sound,
as well as line drawings, charts, etc.
Black-only lasers, in my experience, will do a more than adequate job of
printing B&W photos as...
I'll check it out, but it may be unnecessary.
Nozzle check appears flawless.
I'll see what actual print output looks like, then proceed accordingly.
I haven't yet sent print from my computers; they don't reside in the same room.
Update:
Overtime pay has been coming in, so I decided to chance it on a new printhead.
At US $86, it was nearly $200 less than a current, equivalent replacement printer to use
the same cartridges, and around $25 less than other sources picturing their printheads
with the right Canon insignia on...
The post title says it all, sir. ;)
That's not my reason for posting; I'm perfectly happy with PC to date.
Now, this DOES make some sense.
I've no familiarity with such systems, but this seems quite logical.
I simply found the differences to be entertaining in a rather odd fashion. :hu
So I purchased a couple sets of their silicone plugs for Canon carts
to be used with my new PRO-100. They're actually different in shape
and/or size from the ones supplied with the PGI/CLI-225 carts in the
refill kit I purchased for my MG5320, but they are fine for the 100/CLI-42.
The amusement...
I keep hearing about that, and it must cheese you folks off.
Honestly, I can't imagine WHY there can't be similar deals offered worldwide.
Do you folks ever get such a break on anything, or are the manufacturers simply ignoring such a large portion of the world market?
Apologies for the...
