Well done,ray.
I'll have to try that method sometime.
I took a more aggressive approach in continually flushing with Windex
until clean, rather than a simple flush then a soak.
Sounds like quite a timesaver over my approach.
I don't know how 'vital' the Canon 225/226 inks are to others, and I understand
they're somewhat recent, and your primary counterpart here in the US offers
similar inks...
...but if my own country's prime supplier should drop such inks for my MG5300 series,
I'd certainly be interested for as...
I've never heard of LA Awesome cleaner until now.
An interesting read about its ingredients can be found HERE.
I would be hesitant to use it to flush an ink cartridge which
is made under very tightly-controlled conditions
for use in such a finitely specific application.
Ray and Andre...
Welcome, Ray. You've found a great place here.
Indeed, you will not.
I learned an awful lot of useful information here about my own printers,
which actually guided me through to a fix of 100% before I joined up
and began participating.
Don't hesitate to jump in:
Search and browse, and ask any...
Welcome.
Search around, learn up, and interact.
Pull up a beer(or your desired refreshment), lean into this place,
and you'll find that everyone is just as welcoming and helpful
as they have been to me.
Seriously, I keep returning just to learn.
Sometimes, I even have some insight or other...
Welcome(back), Mike.
That's a helluva printer you've got:
The description is much like an architectural plotter and photo printer combined,
for hugely wide photo prints!
I'm afraid you're out of my league with that monster in your corral. :ep
I would be inclined to suspect battery-low resetters, if that's been your useage.
However, I will acknowledge that nothing in this world is a sure thing,
so there are a lot of variables which can factor into your experiences.
I myself may have troubles as well, and I'm new to the whole...
There's no DRM-like setup that I've ever heard of.
Considering the cost of a replacement head OR cart set exceeds twice the cost of an after-rebate
printer, people are doing exactly what you think they are:
Cashing in on the rebate offer for hugely discounted inksets,
and obtaining spare...
That's good to hear, as I've only read about permanent damage, or at least, what appeared to be permanent damage.
@Manuel Aspegren , here's a picture of my CLI-42 cartridge set after flushing:
PRO-100 cart refilling: Do I have this right?
You'll see that yellow is about as white as can be...
As @stratman mentions, only the yellow CLI-42 must be completely cleaned.
This is to prevent Canon's ink formula from coagulating into lumps
when diluted, which can permanently clog/damage the printhead.
While the Windex brand is most frequently mentioned for this,
it's been fairly well...
Feedback appreciated, Rob.
I thought as much, which is why I mentioned third-party free hosting.
I brought the topic up simply because I've not been able to locate valid software tools for my MG5320 and PRO-100, hoping to obtain them for when the ink absorbers need to be reset.
When it...
By 'repository,' I'm referring to things such as Service Tool programs, official service manuals, and the like. Images to accompany any necessary instructions could be included as well, but what I'm suggesting is the likes of a downloadable collection of files specifically relating to various...
Indeed, you have!
Welcome.
As a newbie myself, I've found this collection of folks to be very knowledgeable,
friendly and helpful.
Settle in and get comfortable.
