Startman thanks for the additional information.
Peter BJ this Dell has been rebuilt and the product key sticker has a big black X over that sticker. I don’t know how that works but the Computer now has been upgraded to Windows 10 Pro and the BIOS has been upgraded from A13 to A24.

Thanks once I get this computer on line it will need a video card and a Samsung SSD.
The Dell forum says the 7010 will safely take SATA-3/600 SSD whatever that means.
I only have dial up now.
Will have to decide whether to go with cable or AT&T DSL.
Dial up on this old computer will barely let me open this forum and will not let me open the link you posted to Malwarebytes.
It is so bad on this forum I can’t mark forums read any more. I click on the spot and...
Its strange you bring up Malwarebytes back in 2014 I purchased a lifetime membership Golden ticket. After purchasing the membership I discovered their software could not be down loaded by slow dial up.
Now I can’t even access their web page because of my slow dial up. I plan on sending them a...
The Optiplex 7010 is a business computer and the log in page I am talking about is only to prevent coworkers from looking at or messing with your stuff. Since I am a senile old man living alone I don’t need to sign in every time I turn the computer on...
Thanks for the help guys.
I have been living in the world of dial up and windows XP for so long it is going to be difficult to change.
My next question is about cable connecting to the new computer tower. The few people I know all have laptops with built in wifi and they use a router.
What...
Stratman thank you very much for going to all of that trouble.
Those links gave me enough info to get through set up.
I used a different user name and that let set up finish. Then I went in to Settings-Accounts-Family and deleted second user.
Don’t know what I did but the computer does not...
Long story but what I have:
Refurbished Dell Optiplex 7010 with I5-3570 3.4G processor
8 GB DDR3 Memory
2TB Hatachi hard drive
DVDRW optical drive
No instructions or any thing to help me with set up.
The computer does look and smell like new inside and out.
The Problem:
I know nothing...
I am looking for a computer forum that is not a bunch of pampas jerk.
There must be some computer forum that won’t thumb their nose at a senile old fart looking for a little help.
Thanks
Ron
Yeah you are wise at my age I cant risk messing with that nasty toner. Guess I just need to find a decent compatible cart company.
Without input from a laser printer forum all I can do is look at Amazon reviews.
Is there any way to help attract more members to this forum.
Thanks Hat.
From what I have seen the HP 05A cart requires two holes burned or complete cart dismally to refill. What happened to the carts that you just pour toner in the side of the cart?
I only have $15 bucks in this HP P2035 and am thinking about dumping it and buying a laser-scanner...
